I'm pretty sad...

I put together my bridal shower address list. Almost all of my good friends and family are on the East coast.

We live in California and a friend out here is giving me a shower. I'm sad because I just realized that most of my meaningful friendships are so far away. I think I'll probably have less than 10 people for this shower

Female family have talked about giving me one in LI the day before the wedding, but I don't know if this will happen. I know showers should be happy, but I'm sad just thinking it might seem lonely.... But at least my mom will be there and this does make it a little better.

I am sorry! But try to count your blessing that you do have close friends on each coast and that they think enough of you to give you 2 showers!!!

I am so sorry for you....but the thought of 2 showers sounds like fun! What about themeing them? Cali could be a hollywood theme or a luau.....Hey! Maybe some of your East Coast friends will surprise you and show up in Cali......I know I'm upset that my one FSIL might not be able to make my shower since she lives in GA and I feel very close to her already......((((BIG HUGS))))))

what about coming to NY for a weekend 1-2 months before the wedding...then you can have a better NY shower...with everyone there...

the day before will be too hectic!!!

The same thing is happening to me.

I'm having a good size shower with about 40 people (all family), but my ENTIRE bridal party (except MOH) are out of state, and will not be able to come to my shower. My FI even offered to pay for a few hotel suites for everyone so that I could have a bachelorette weekend...but they just don't have the money to get here, they're stretching it as it is.

But, now I just focus on the good, they'll all be sharing my wedding day, and that's what really matters to me.

Don't be sad!!! I'm sure everyone there will make it a very special day for you!!!!!!!!

I know how it is to have so many family and friends far away.

We had my bridal shower in NY, so those people could be there with me.

In CA, my girlfriends took me out for a pseudo shower/bachlorette party. There were only 5 of us, but it was awesome. They made a special breakfast with mimosas, we all wore tiaras and then we headed out and partied all day long at Sam's in Tiburon. (we were going to go wine tasting but it such a great day we wanted to be outside - I was sicker than I've ever been that evening . )

It worked out great since I then got to celebrate with everyone.

Do you have any trips to NY planned before the wedding? Could you have a shower then?

Im with you if it makes you feel any better. My dad was militaryso we moved alot. Most of my good friends are oit of state, they can make it for the wedding, but cant make the shower. I will probably have 20 at my shower, and half of that is his family. I am ok with it though, because my family will be there and thats what matters the most to me!
But cheer up..you arent alone!!!

I knew you guys would make me feel better.

I'll be in NY in September for lots of wedding details so maybe they will do a surprise shower then, I know my FMIL was thinking about it....
