I'm pretty sure No means NO!

I'm pretty sure No means NO!

as most of you know, I work for a family owned business, there's a mother and two sons.
a few weeks ago I got suckered into moving the older sons office around by the mother and younger son. I ended up throwing out my back. I tried not to say anything, but word got out and I was 'lectured' on being more careful with moving things (by the mother).. (ps- they know I have back problems, and I said I didn't want to move anything)

skip ahead to yesterday- I have some stomach issues and spent most of the day laying in bed because my stomach was acting up. It took a lot for me to get up and come to work today... but I really can't afford to take a day off.

So I'm sitting here at my desk trying not to moan and groan over my stomach (and with that my back), I feel like I'm going throw up and my insides BURN!

well MOTHER just came by and asked if I can help her move files, I told her no.. I'm not feeling well and I dont want to throw up or throw out my back... she replies 'well can you do it just a little, I'll hand you the files and you can move them'

SUREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE....

because I didn't just say NO!

STOP!!!! She's taking advantage of you!! I don't want you to be sick, but I kinda wish you'd throw up on her files. She's a jerk for asking you to do this!

I was just thinking you should throw up on her!!! But honestly, your health comes first- tell her no!!!

Re: I'm pretty sure No means NO!

ok.. what I ended up doing:

she had me SIT on the floor and put files (papers) in boxes, she handed them to me...
then she moved the 2007's down then the 08's, etc... she took FOREVER so finally I just said 'move, you're taking too long and doing this wrong' and I moved it all by myself. so I'm at fault that my back and arms hurt now... but my stomach didn't do anything weird, so thats kinda a plus.

I do feel bad because she's almost 80 and she shouldn't be doing all this physical stuff either--but g forbid she ask her MUSCULAR son to do it!

thanks for reading girls!
