Warning: Coricidin HBP Cough & Cold ('Triple C') is dangerous at high doses, and should NOT be abused! If you choose to use dextromethorphan (DXM) recreationally as a psychedelic, you should use a source that contains ONLY dextromethorphan (DXM) as the active ingredient, like Robitussin Maximum Strength cough syrup (or generic equivalents) and Dexalone.


This site is being set up to warn anybody who may be abusing Coricidin HBP Cough & Cold pills (a/k/a 'Triple C', and other names) as a source of DXM (dextromethorphan). Coricidin is NOT a safe source of DXM for tripping. In addition to the 30 mg of dextromethorphan contained in Coricidin HBP Cough & Cold per pill, they also contain 4 mg of chlorpheniramine maleate. This is an anticholinergic drug, a class of drug which in general is very dangerous to take in large doses with dextromethorphan. Worse yet, chlorpheniramine maleate is also metabolized by the same liver enzyme (known as CYP-2D6) as is DXM. The competition for this limited enzyme by the two drugs makes taking them together, in large doses, a dangerous combination.

There have been a large number of hospitalizations, and even deaths, that have resulted from people taking Coricidin as recreational source of DXM. Coricidin appears to be materially more dangerous as a source of DXM than OTC medicines that contain only dextromethorphan, such as Robitussin Maximum Strength cough syrup, or Dexalone, which is a gelcap containing only DXM sold in the US; regrettably nowhere as easy to find as Coricidin. Thus, DO NOT ABUSE CORICIDIN if you want to get high and trip on dextromethorphan!!! If you must use dextromethorphan recreationally, then use a source that contains ONLY dextromethorphan as the active ingredient, such as Robitussin Maximum Strength cough syrup (or, a generic equivalent), or Dexalone. While taking DXM as a psychedelic at recreational doses is by NO MEANS safe (death has occurred from just using pure dextromethorphan recreationally), sources such as Robitussin Maximum Strength cough syrup and Dexalone are FAR less likely to result in hospitalization or death than Coricidin. Yes, swilling cough syrup is disgusting, and it is unpleasant tasting artificial cherry goo. However, if you currently are abusing Coricidin, be a man or woman, hold your nose, and swill a bottle of Robitussin. Unless you want to become another casualty of Coricidin.

My brother's senior year of high school, he finally admitted to my parents that he had a drug problem and needed help. They had an idea he was involved in something, but had no idea how severe it was until he spoke to them.
They enrolled him in a day program in manhasset (it's no longer around, or I would get the information for you) and it changed his life!
There is hope - but it's a tough road, and she needs a lot of love and support. And it's scary as hell to sit and watch someone go through it!

Well, ultimately, the day program just got him started - joining the Marines was really what got him whipped into shape...and i wouldnt' recommend that really.....
