hey girls i just needed to vent!! i got married last saturday and loved everything about it!! we went to sag harbor for sunday into monday and that went great,, then i come home to a message saying i dont have a job anymore!! i was babysitting 2 kids from home and also my own, and i wanted to get out of babysitting after the wedding but not this sudden. i requested off in january for wed, th, fri and mon,,,,,,,, not so much to ask for my wedding its not like im taking a honeymoon.. so their excuse was they couldnt get off of work and had to put their kids in daycare. but never told me there was a problem, cuz i would have done anything to keep my job. now im just sad cuz it is the happiest time of my life but yet now my stomach is in knots and i dunno what im gonna do!! i need a job to pay off wedding bills,, we paid for it all on our own and didnt make all of it back.......

awwww...sorry! im sure you can get anoter job.....try looking on craigslist under chuld care theres always tons of ppl looking for someone!

don't fret! i'm a true believer that EVERYTHING happens for a reason---and you and your new hubby will be just fine. shame on that couple for being selfish and firing you! god forbid you have a life and a wedding and need a few days off!!!

Oh that really stinks. Try placing an ad in the local paper like South Bay, Town Crier etc. they are usually fairly priced and maybe you will have some luck.

sorry. brush it off...if that's what kind of people they are....you don't need 'em. don't worry, as soon as the kids get ill from the daycare or the daycare is closed, they'll figure out their hasty mistake.

Have you considered working for an agency? That might be a good way to get another child care job.

i agree with the agency idea... my sisters friend is a nanny, and she hasn't been without a job since she put her name in with the agency. there are some good families out there- she makes decent money- she watches one boy who is in kindergarten half the day, they gave her a car to use, gas allowance, etc... also- it sounds ilke mayeb something else might be going on, since this is so sudden. my sisters friend got laid off from one of her nanny jobs suddenly. it turns out, the father had lost his job and they couldn't afford to keep her on anymore, BUT, they didn't tell her what was going on- just told her he wuold be 'workign from home'. when he didn't get another job right away, they finally told her the truth and let her go..... maybe something like is going on with your family, it seems really sudden.... everything will work out ok!! enjoy being married!!!
