i'm no expert, but breathe. from what i've read, you're testing early and maybe the tests have not picked up the hormone as early. we're all confident that your pregnant. but please don't stress yourself i know that is easier said than done.

Re: I'm scared - help ...

Kathy, hang in there. If I remember correctly, ur AF is due the 26th... that's still 5 days from now. Sometimes your hcg levels have to develop, and is normally more developed by the time AF is due.

I mentioned it before... but when I took 4 PTs in Nov, I 1st used an EPT 3 days b4 AF was due, and I got a faint line. Then the following day, I went to Planned Parenthood, and they use those internet cheapies... and there was NO line... but as me and the woman spoke about it, we started seeing an even fainter line than what I saw at home. She had me take another, and the same thing, another faint line. She gave me an extra test to try after AF was due, and I did... the line was more noticeable, but still faint. End result? I was definitely pregnant.

Case in point... don't get upset just yet, and try your best to be patient. If not, you're just gonna keep driving yourself nuts going back & forth with results.

Sending you patience & peace your way...

Kathy...take it easy! I know you're scared! Stop testing until after AF is alte.....If you're this stressed, it could be a bad thing for the pregnancy!

The baby will be fine...it's still REALLY early to be testing. FRER says you can take it 4 or 5 days before AF...you took it a week before!

Re: I'm scared - help ...

I copied this for you to put your mind at ease...... Test sensitivity varies greatly!

I used First Response 2 days before I was to get AF and I tested BFN (It's supposed to be one of the most sensitive tests at 15-25 miu). I used Clear Blue Easy 2 days later and got a faint positive. Give your body a chance to let the hcg build up!

I know it's hard, but try not to worry.

AccuHome 25 mIU

AimStep 20 mIU

Aim Midstream OTC 20 mIU

AimStick PBD 20 mIU

AimStick OTC / AccuDip 20 mIU

Answer Early Result 25 mIU

First Response Early Result 15-25 mIU

Clearblue Easy (U.S.) 50 mIU

e.p.t. 40 mIU

Fact Plus Select 40 mIU 1

In general, tests rated to detect the lowest hCG levels should be able to detect pregnancy sooner than those rated for a higher level. However, it is important to note that this chart rates the manufacturer's claimed sensitivity, not test accuracy. We did not do a laboratory analysis of the tests. Look below the FAQ for some comments on different brands. If you are in the U.S. and your test isn't listed, you can search the FDA site and please let us know!

Kathy, you need to put the testing strips away!!! You are going to make yourself nuts!!! Which as Shana said is no good!!!
Please stop making yourself crazy, wait until next week to start testing again since that is when af is supposed to be due.

I know it's hard, but try to relax... this early, before your AF is even due, the tests will vary, especially if you're using them at different times of the day. When you're pregnant, especially early on, your hormones will spike at different times during the day. Also, remember, the test results will vary according to how much you drink! If you have a huge bottle of water and test an hour later, your urine and the hormones will be diluted and so the test won't come out as dark. Stop taking the HPT's, relax, and start enjoying the idea of being pregnant!

Take a deep breath and try to relax. Wait a few more days and test again. If you want a definate answer go to your general doctor and request a blood test. You will probably get the results in a couple of days.

Re: I'm scared - help ...

Kathy, all the ladies have given you awesome advice. I know how scared you must feel, but try to remember that you are still so early to be testing ...

I think that since AF still isn't due for awhile, the HcG hormone isn't strong enough in your urine for all the tests to accurately pick it up -

Also I could swear I've read that just because the line doesn't get DARKER as the days go on, this is not cause to worry. That is no indication of anything. (go to www.peeonastick.com - they explain in better there and might ease some of your worries)

PLEASE try not to stress (yeah I know, easier said than done!)

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers girl ... hang in there

Take some deep breaths and try to focus on the positives. Stressing yourself out isn't good for you!!

Can you take work home with you and explain to your boss that you don't feel well? Mental health is just as important as physical health and I'm sure that you aren't really focused on what is happening at work today.

I'll be thinking about you today and keeping my fingers crossed for you.

If it makes you feel any better I got 2 BFN on the 1st response early detection tests...the day OF my AF due. I also tried an EPT digital that day and got a BFP!! Doesn't make any sense, but here I am 22 weeks PG!!! Good luck and don't worry...these tests are wacky and you're still building hormone!

Deeeeep breaths.....

Try not to worry yourself too much - by monday you will have a better idea so just try to enjoy the weekend.

Re: I'm scared - help ...

When I first tested, I used the First Response and got 2 BFPs. The next day I used one of the digital tests and got a negative. These tests really vary as far as sensitivity goes, and you are still SO early. The best thing to do is to go in on Monday and get the blood work - then you will know for sure. But I am very confident that you ARE PG based on what I saw yesterday!
