I've posted this before but I still can't think of anything to get for my parents. They're both in their 70s. What do you all suggest? They don't really have any hobbies. I'm running out of time!!!!

I am thinking of getting my dad a frame with an old picture of us with 'Daddys girl' engraved. I think any parent would be touched by any gift with a personal touch.

I was thinking the frame too but I don't know. I wanted to do something a little more than that....

My FBIL and his wife bought my FIL's a family tree blanket from Things Remembered. It is really pretty. Maybe something like that would be nice. I also saw famliy tree platter somewhere on the internet.

This may not be in your price range but we were thinking of having a personal chef come to cook them a romantic dinner or maybe make a dinner for them & their friends.

How about sending them a basket of goodies & flower arrangement to be deivered the day after the wedding? Or making dinner reservations for you, your FH and your parents for when you return from your honeymoon. Then you could treat them to dinner and present them then with another smaller token of appreciation, like a framed picture or something. I also like the idea already mentioned about the family throw blanket from Things Remembered. I'm sure you could search and find other family oriented things, like a family tree, quilt, etc. Good luck!

Thanks for the ideas!
I'm sure they'd like the restaurant thing - can anybody suggest a nice one? Either on the Island or in the city?

We got my mother & step-father a Bulova clock
We got my father & step-mother a Throw with their last name embroidered on it and a Picture Box with some family photos in it
We got FH's mother & step-father a waterford vase
We got them all at Things Remembered and they are all engraved with a small sentiment on them
