I'm sick....help me decide which type of Doctor to see..Update

I have no idea which doctor to make an appointment with.... I'm sick. I think it's bronchitis and sinusitis. I've had this combo before and I'm feeling pretty much the same way. I'm also a flight attendant and I worked yesterday against my better judgement and now my left ear has been blocked (feels like someone is holding their hand over it) since last night and my right one pops everytime I swallow. I also have a slight pain down the left side of my neck when I swallow from my ear. I took Sudafed before flying but I guess it didn't work so well. So should I go see my regular doctor or should I go see an ENT specialist???? Thanks girls!!

What is your regular doctor? Most general practitioners are either ENTs or internists. I'd start with your regular doc.

if you don't need a referral, then go to the ENT specialist. your primary doctor is probably going to refer you there anyway.

My regular Doctor is an internist. I think I'll go to him first because it's hard to get an appointment with my ENT. Maybe if he refers me he can have the ENT squeeze me in if needed. Thanks girls!!!

Thanks! I have an ENT already though. I use Dr. Mittleman in Forest Hills, Queens. It's just hard because I don't have my car today, FH took it to work. My regular DR is 2 blocks from my house.

i went to the regular doctor with similar symptoms a few weeks ago. he put me on antibiotics and allegra, in the meantime I still have three more weeks to get in at the ENT, and I'm feeling better

Go to your regular doctor first because it may just be a bad ear and sinus infection that a good antibiotic can cure. If that doesn't work then go to the ENT unless, of course, your regular DR refers you to him now.

skip the pcp...go straight for the ENT

I would go to the regular doctor. An ENT is really only needed for special cases- I went to one after suffering chronic sinus infections and for ringing in my ears. If you have an infection, the regular dr. can diagnose that and give you the proper prescriptions for it.

i always get sinus infections when the weather changes and i have never been to an ENT - the regular doc clears them up

Okay, I'm back from the my regular doctor. I have bronchitis, sinusitis and ear infections in both ears!!! He gave me Entex and Levaquin Both of my eardrums are bulging outward slightly and I still can't hear out of my left ear. He also gave me a nebulizer treatment, full bloodwork up and a urinanalysis. I should have test results back next week. He also said that I'm hypoglycemic. I tend to get light-headed and shaky if I don't eat. I'm a MESS!!
