I just got home and I am ENGAGED!!!! I've been lurking on this site for some time....but was waiting until I was ENGAGED!!!!!

What do I have to do? I thought I would be prepared...but its all so overwhlming!!!!

I should be in bed, but i just can't sleep!

hmmm...my dream wedding. We don't have an exact date picked out. I would like warm weather, so to plan that I guess it needs to be next spring. Unless there is an open date in the fall?

I would love old, classic, elegance. But I don't know if that helps :( lol ;)

For old, classic elegance, there are some beautiful old mansions you might want to check out. Bourne Mansion and Vanderbilt Mansion at Dowling College are just a couple I can think of off the top of my head. Congrats and welcome! :o)

Oh, and it's possible for you to do the fall - my friend got engaged not too long ago and they booked for early October. You'll just have to get a move-on if that's what you're thinking.

Does your fiance have to go with you when looking at halls? He says he will, but I am not sure that he really cares either way. *lol*

From my experience, I recommend deciding what is most important to you to have his input on. Once you have it figured out, tell him that other than X, he can be involved or not involved to whatever degree he wants. If it's the hall (which was mine), have him come because as much as they say they don't care, I feel like that's the one thing they do care about. (That and some absolutely random detail that's easier to give to them then fight them on.) Beyond that, I pick stuff, ask if he thinks it's ok (which he barely looks up from his game of Madden to do) and move on. Makes life simpler.
