I'm so mad. Invitations for me e-party....am I getting ripped off. How do I stop an order??**Updated**
Yesterday my mother and I went to 'Gift of Love' in Queens and got the invitations for my e-party in May. I found this one that I really liked, but one of the girls who works there (who I also know) showed me another one which I kind of liked better so I decided to go with the latter one. Now these invitations have bows on top. So she gives us a final price $256. We leave a $56 deposit. So my mother and I get home. I jump in the shower and the store calls. Guess they called and said it's extra for the bows. Total price----about $400. I'm furious because there is no way in this world I want to pay $400 for these invitations. Now I look back and realize they are not all that great. I'd rather the one's I initially choose. I want to cancel this order and get the other one's. The store is closed on Sun/Mon.. Do you think it's possible to stop this order? Ahhhh....I hate this because I feel like I'm being ripped off.
Not only that, but they seemed so disorganized and now I regret ever stepping foot in that door. Help.....How do I stop this order? Do you think it's possible that the order was already placed on a Saturday afternoon? TIA

If they are closed Sun/Mon I think you still have time to cancel the order. I don't think they've had time to start the order.
Just tell them the pricing is ridiculus and you want to cancel the order.

Call them first thing when they open on Tuesday. That price is insane. I ordered mine online, and I thought I was paying a lot $80 for 30 invites. This is the printed price. You can get them blank for a lot cheaper and print them yourself.

Isn't that a bit odd? All of a sudden they call and add over $100 for bows. I'm calling on Tuesday morning and hoping for the best. I hope they don't try to be slick and say they already put the order through. It's so annoying.

I do believe that they would need time to set the plates and proof the invites.
I can't believe the pricing. Maybe since you were quoted that specific price you can see if you can get them for that price or at least a happy medium.

Right...it's just paper and people are going to throw them out in the end. I hope they don't give me any problems.

Wanna really laugh now- two weeks after I ordered the invitations for my e-party I had my mother call to find out what's going on w/ the invitations I had ordered. OMG, the woman told my mother that the company had called her today and told her that those invitations were discontinued. Now tell me isn't that a little bit odd- that the day my mother calls you regarding the invitations, so does the company to tell you they are discontinued.
So my mother calls me at work and now I'm fuming. It's the first week of March and I still have no invitations. So that same day I went directly to the store sooooooo pissed off to find out what's going on. I basically told her that something was a little fishy and that it seemed a bit strange that it took the COMPANY 2 weeks to figure out these invitations were discontinued.
So she gives me some B.S., how the company works and how some invitations take a while...blah, blah, blah! That's all I heard. So she asked me to pick two types of invitations so just in case they didn't have one, she could use the other. So, although I said to myself that I wasn't gonna get anything- I was just so fustrated to the point that I didn't care. So I picked two. 1st / 2nd choice. Wow..the first invitation was absolutely stunning. So was the second, but the first was perfect. So I place another order and just picked them up this Thursday. I have to say though the invitations came out just the way I wanted them to. However, I will NEVER EVER go back to that place and get invitations done there. Ohhh, by the way- they were much cheaper. .
Now, I'm spending the weekend doing the invitations and printing addresses on the clear avery labels. I'm so excited to have this done. I can't believe my e-party is less than two months away. Wow...if I'm stressing about this- planning a wedding is gonna be GREAT.lol...thanks for listening.
