I come in today..and ended up having an argument with one of the nurses who likes to gossip and talk down to people. Well...she caught me on a BAD day today because she tried talking down to me and I let her have it. I was also in a meeting w/my boss telling him what happened and she literally barged in, and started talking down to me again, and I had to remind her that I was not a child and demanded the same respect she gets from me because I am 34 years old!! Long story short...she kept on and I am now taking it higher because my manager didn't say anything. This nurse has violated HIPPA regulations with several people, blurting out their personal business and letting people know their health status/situations, when they didn't need to be aware of that (one of them being my manager). As much as I don't want to mess with anyones livelihood... I hate to say it..but I hope she gets fired. She's a grown woman, who works for a prestigious cancer hospital and has access to alot of things...but shouldn't be looking into co-workers personal business and has!! She's done so many things to so many people, and no one wants to speak up about it...but I am. I've had it! This woman is 39 years old, with 2 children, and yet so immature, and loves to gossip and start problems, I'm assuming because she's miserable at home! Well...she messed w/the wrong person..because I've tolerated a little too much from her, but the moment she spoke to me in the manner that she did..I flipped my lid!! Wish me luck!

I'm so sorry you have to deal with this woman. We spend so much of our lives at work, it truly stinks when we are surrounded by miserable people.
I applaud your decision to report this crazy woman. Stick to your guns and follow through - we here support you!!!!!!

Thanks girls.. That's exactly how I feel. Why are there so many miserable people in the world? I reported her...and since I was a 'third party' there isn't much they can do unless the person that heard the information that was revealed comes out and says something. I was also told that it is so severe that she could be let go. Of course, I come back and tell the people who were subjected to hearing the personal information...that they should step forward..and they said for what? Unreal. I am going to look for another job somewhere else..because working here is going to drive me crazy.

Thanks...but it really bothers me that nothing is going to be done, especially because those same people that heard the information...are afraid of her for some reason. Why? I have no clue. I can only imagine..she must have something on them. I tried...that's all I could do. I told my manager in a round about way the information that was spread..and I felt so bad telling him..because he's so nice. The info that was spread around is that he is HIV positive..and that doesn't make him a bad person..but that's obviously the reaction she was hoping for.

GOOD LUCK!!! I was put in a similar situation at my job where HIPPA laws were violated and nobody wanted to complain. Well, like you, I did!!!! It was addressed and it hasn't happened since.

Remember - difficult people in this world exist to teach us a lesson - if we got along with everyone we would never grow!!!
I am fuming reading about this woman. I work at a cancer hospital too. I think I used to work at yours but an off site. It dosen't sound like this woman has an ounce of compassion and that's what is needed to deal with these patients. But do yourself a favor- go as far as you can go but if you think she has something on someone- you are the only one that will get screwed in the end. I was in a simillar situation and that's exactly what happened. Which is why I no longer work for that establishment. Good Luck!

Sorry to hear she is so difficult. If I were you I would keep a log of every incident, and everything she says and does when you get home. Just for your own records.. I do this at my job.. bc you really never know..Hope you will be ok... stay patient and strong!!
