I'm so sick!!!

FH is a new Elementary school teacher, so he brings home little gifts for me all the time....and by 'gifts', I mean GERMS. ew ew ew.

I have a bad cold - the worst I've had in years! I'm a full time student with a part time job (about 25 hours a week) - I'm supposed to log in about 6 or 7 hrs at work today, but I can't get out of bed! I'm sneezing and coughing and have a low fever, but I reallllllly need to go in, this is a big month for bills (my tuition is on my C.C.)!

I'm getting there...I should really be there at 3. I think I'll go in, and heavily medicate. If I feel reallllly bad, I'll just ask to leave, good plan, right? Luckily I'm not alone there tonight, so if I have to leave, it's not the end of the world.

I just hate being sick, I feel weak!

so sorry you are not feeling well nicole. as far as your job, if you make an effort to go and work for an hour or two and find you really can't, then just leave. it looks better to go and then leave, then not go at all.

Thats what I was thinking too - especially 'cause there is a girl there who ALWAYS calls in sick, and everyone is always talking about her 'cause they think she makes it up. I know I'd be the talk of the office if I didn't at least show my face! (not that it's the end of the world if they're talking about me...) And I'm thinking that when my boss SEES my face, she'll ASK me to leave!

Plus, this was a great day to up my post count! I'm so close!

sorry you arent feeling welll.... im a first year teacher and have had my fair share of colds this year so far... about twice a month! it stinks...but i heard once you make it through your first year, you never get sick again!!

just concentrate on getting better....

I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL!!! I am a teacher and have been for over 9 years. I have never been more sick in my life until I started to teach. I was told that that Airborne stuff works - it was invented by a teacher. I always keep antbacterial hand gel in my room as well as baby wipes and I am always cleaning. You'd think I had OCD or germphobia. Children are, by nature, the fastest disease spreaders around. You can't fault them because they don't know any better.

I went to work and had to stay 'cause someone else was out sick, and there was no one to check the patients in. fun!

I did however, make a Dr. appt for today @ 2. The cough is sooo much worse and there's some major chest pain...Mom (a nurse) says it's sounds too much like pneumonia for her comfort.

Here' my next problem....the last time I was sick was YEARS ago! I've been getting physicals through college health centers, so I haven't been to a PCP in 4 years. Get this: the last time I was at a doctor (other than the gyno) I was just about to turn 18 and went to my pediatrician!!! eek!

Anyone know anything about Dr. Carfora's family Medicine in Commack? One of the patients at work (I work in physical therapy) recommended them, there are 4 female docs. Anyone ever been there?
