I'm So Sick of Saving

I feel like I barely have enough money for deoderant lately. Any spare money I do have is useless. I have so many birthdays coming up plus my friends wedding shower (plus I'm in the wedding) that I never have money just for me. I can't remember the last time I went 'shopping'.

Sorry girls, I just neede to vent for a minute. I'll be better in a day or two and I know it's all worth it in the end but sometimes it really depresses me

I know exactly what you mean. I'm also tired of planning ahead, so when I get paid it is already assigned to certain things we need for the wedding. So annoying.

But hey...you hit 1000 posts!!!!

I get frustated too sometimes. Even though both set of out parents are helping us the wedding we have been saving for a house and furniture...on top of it my FH pays of his house bills now (mortgage, utilities , etc) so its hard.
we always talk about when the bigger expenses get out of the way we will be able to spoil ourselves a bit but till then we have to sit tight.
One day it will be worth it all!!!

My FH just put his money there I think last month and is soooo thrilled! It is a great place to invest money!

It seems that there's always something! Either another wedding or shower or birthday party or the car needs repair or something! Everytime I feel like I'm ahead, something like this comes up.

I've been sending part of my paycheck into a savings account so I don't see it or anything. I try my hardest to forget about the account and so far I'm doing well (last year I was using that money for everyday expenses so I'm excited it's still there).

We also put some money in a 3 month cd, we got a 3.25% rate at Commerce but, I've seen better ones at Astoria Federal.

anyway, yeah its stinks. and what stinks even more is how all that money will be gone in a couple more months.

Can I sulk with you? I know how you feel. I recently switched my direct deposit for my paycheck to go directly into the account Fh and I set up for the wedding. It sux.
I can't wait to go shopping for 'me' again.
Hang in there! Things will get back to normal before you know it. I know it can take a lot out of a person, but stay strong and you'll get through it!

i think alot of us are feeling the same way ... it will be ok

i wanna join in on the sulking - trust me i know EXACTLY how u feel. not only are we burdened with wedding bills (and there's sooo many of them) but this year it seems like everyone we know is throwing a party and we're invited and of course have to give a $$$ gift. all in all we have about 7 or 8 parties and one of them is my good friend's bridal shower (i'm a bridesmaid in the wedding) and her wedding in december. i just can't wait until all this saving is over

you're not alone!! this is a tough time for anyone paying for their own wedding--and bills--and regular b-days and holidays that pop up! i used to get my nails & eyebrows done religiously....but now the idea of spending $50-75 on fill-ins with designs...well i haven't done my nails on the regular in awhile! even just going to get my hair done--i'm like 'hmm...i could totally use that $50 for something wedding related.'

i think you should just splurge on yourself. i'm not saying go buy the entire store--just get one new outfit for yourself...or a spa treatment...whatever you're into. if you don't do something for yourself once in awhile--you'll feel burnt out!

OMG me tooooooooooooo........i cant take it anymore my whole paycheck is spent before i get it

OMG, ME TOO!!! I even start plucking my own eyebrows to save money. It really does s*ck but it'll be worth it in the end. You are def. not alone.

def, me too, everything extra that we have seems to be going into anything wedding related!! i can't wait until after the wedding, it will seem like we have so much extra $$$$ good thing we only have 3 more months to go (from today !!! )

I know what you mean about saving though! It is so hard this year, but I know in the end we will all be very happy on our wedding day's! This is everything we ever dreamed about as little girls.
