Im so upset (NWR)

I had recently sat down to look over my student loan paymts and unfortunately was WAY off in calculating how much time i have left on the loan. I THOUGHT i only had 3 1/2 more yrs so I called today to ask how much more I would have to pay inorder to pay off quicker. Well..... as my BAD math skills have turned out, my loan isnt over until 2012!!!!!!

Im literally writing this post in tears. I cant believe I have to keep paying almost $600 a mon for 6 1/2 more years!! My FI is gonna FREAK!!!!

I don't know much about this- but is there any way to pay it for longer and pay less every month????

$600 is pretty steep

or what about waiting a year and refinacing for co-op and using the money to pay it off

I don't know what the interest rates are

Sallie Mae offers a lot of repayment options to lessen your payments and lower your interest rates. You should look on the website.

Student loans bite!

I hate student loans - they pay off SO slowly. Try to pay a little over what is due each month and note on your check for them to apply the extra to the principle. A little extra payment can cut alot of length from your payment schedule by cutting the principle down.

I can understand your pain! FH has to pay off so much $$ in loans from his masters. I get tons of stuff to reconsolidate, so if you want, I can FM you the info!

We both figure we'll be paying ours until our kids go to college. But, wow, $600 per month sounds like a lot.
