Ok, so I started a thread a while back asking if I should do anything different with my veil becuase it was sooooooooo plain and I was worried that my overall look would be boring...
I had ordered a long veil, I think it was called cathedral?? but anyways, I ordered it thinking that since my dress was so simple that my veil should be too.
A lot of you agreed that I should keep it plain and that it would go great with my dress.......and I agreed.
Well, I was in a bridal salon 2 weeks ago and found a veil that I ABSOLUTELY loved. I asked the sales girl how much it was going for. She said it was $425.00!!!! OUCH!!! I asked if they would be having a sale on these veils anytime soon or within the next 6 MONTHS!! lol lol lol
As we were talking, we both noticed a rip in the lower section of the material above all of the embroidery patterns. It wasn't huge and it WAS close to the patterns so I asked her if this would be easy to fix. She said yes, all you would have to do is get someone to sew it with clear thread and you wouldn't even notice it. So of course I asked what type of discount I would be able to get now that there is a hole in it and really, what are THEY going to do with a ripped veil?
She talked to the owner and came back and told me that this veil has been discontinued anyway (not sure why they were still selling it

) and that the owner can't sell it but will be throwing it away and writing it off. TROWING IT AWAY!!!!?? Why can't I just buy it (at the right price)? So the owner came out of her office and we talked. She said, 'Ok, well, since it's ripped and there isn't really ANYTHING you can do to fix it (even though the sales lady told me I could)....we can sell it to you for $39.99!!!!! I said SOLD!!!
Once I got home, I emailed the company that I originally purchased my veil from to see if they would be able to help me at all and if I just wasted $39.99?? They told me that if I ship the veil to them then they can look it over and let me know.
Well, anyways, to try to condense this ALREADY long winded post, after a few emails back and forth sharing idea's of what to do, they sent me a picture of the veil that they FIXED!!!!! All they did was cut off the embroidery (appliques??) and applied them to a new peice of fabric. I will be paying extra for the crystals and the work they did, but let me know what you think??? Will it go great with my dress????
Sorry so long
