but I'm really confused. My photographer is hoping we start earlier so that we can get more outside shotsbetween the ceremony and party, and my videographer wants me to start the cermony later so he can get more of me getting ready before...what do I do? How can I find a happy middle?

how much time does the videographer need? I don't think you need too much video of you getting ready. I would rather have more time for sunlight for the photographer. I didn't even have the videographer film me getting ready and i'm fine with that. I wouldn't make the ceremony later, JMO

dont let your vendors push you around! my 1st photographer was pushy that FH and I meet before the ceremony becasue according to him 'we wouldnt have enough time' for pictures with a 4pm ceremony and a 6pm cocktail hour.
my new photographer is totally fine with taking pictures in that 1.5 hour block.
do what YOU want. your vendors should be able to work around your times what are your times?

I was shooting for a 2:30 ceremony (about a half an hour) and a 5:00 cocktail hour...I figured if we do a receiving line at the church, 60 guests won't take that long...we'd be done at the church by 3:30...then an hour and change for pics....

I agree, i didn't have video of me getting ready either. It was just me getting my hair and m/u done. Pictures were enough for that. If you def. want video, you really don't need that much, tell the video guy to chill out, he's fine with the time he has.

That's what I was thinking. When we talked to him, he seemed ok with having only about 20 minutes to shoot me 'getting ready'...I will have to be all done up and getting into my dress when he gets there, and I'm ok with that. I e-mailed both of them yesterday to make sure the times I chose worked....the photographer is great...has no problems...the videographer sent an e-mail that makes no sense to me....

wow that is a confusing email! I think the times that YOU listed above are perfect with a 2:30 ceremony start. Your right...if you have a 30 minute ceremony and a receiving line and take pictures outside the church, you will probably be done by 3:30, leaving you with an hour and a half for pics. Your guests will be fine, that is not a long wait at all.

That's what I was thinking. Whay does this have to be such a hard decision... it should be easy...shouldn't it?
