I'm sorry... WHAT
So seriously there is going to be no one at this wedding!
FH and I do not get along with his sister. She's a ____________ (insert whatever bad word you can think of and I guarantee it applies). We argued a lot over inviting her to the wedding. We finally agreed to invite her.
We had some intermediate drama where FMIL cornered me at my bridal shower (after promising FH she wouldn't) to tell me I should invite her in-laws as well. Um.. NO.
So last night FSIL calls FH with a list of excuses why she can't come.
1) Her husband can't get the next day off work without getting 'Written up'
2) Her son can't come because he has tourette's and is really bad at parties (umm, he's been fine every time I've seen him). Her daughter yells out bad things about Jesus every time she's in a church to get attention (Don't you think you should address this ahead of time? She's 6 years old!!!!!). Also, these kids were originally supposed to be our FG and RB, so this is pretty lame, no?
3) Her newborn is gassy and would cry too much. The only person she could leave the baby with his not available.
4) She and her DH got fat and don't have a dress/suit to wear. I'm sorry this is the dumbest excuse of all. REALLY? First of all, my FMIL offered to buy them both clothing. Secondly, she first planned a black tie wedding, which I bought a gown for. Then she cancelled it and had a really casual shotgun wedding and I had buy another dress. I also did all of her photography and albums for the wedding and didn't even get a thank you.
So now she's saying the only way she'll come is if she leaves her husband home upstate with the kids, or if she leaves her newborn upstate with her husband, and then has her ex husband watch the 2 older kids.
I don't even want her there in the first place, but I know FH and FMIL will be upset if she isn't. FFIL passed away last year. NO ONE from FFIL's family will be at the wedding and at this point barely anyone from FH's family will be there at all.
Seriously, it's your brother's wedding. He went to THREE of your weddings.Get over yourself.
