It seems like every place I call for band and photographer is already booked for my day! I guess that's what happens when you pick a popular date. I'm afraid all of the good places are booked and I'm going to be stuck with what’s left. My FH's is so incredibly nonchalant about helping me plan this wedding. We could have gotten started months ago and maybe I wouldn’t have had this problem. I'm thinking of getting a wedding planner to do all this calling around for me and price quoting. What do you girls think? Is it worth it?

Did you try posting on Vendors Helping Brides?
For bands, have you been sticking with self-managed bands? If so, maybe try calling agents that manage multiple bands . . . like Skyline Orchestras, Stan Wiest, Faze 4, etc.

Did you try Sweetwater? Their website is sweetwaterorchestras.com. I heard them at a showcase after I booked my band, but they sounded great. For some reason, they don't seem as popular on this site, though. It might be worth a try.
My sister also raves about the Fabulous Grease Band. They do events on LI, but they're based in NJ. I've never heard them live, though.
As far as photographers, are you looking for 1 photog or do you want 2? We booked with photography by Paul Marino. I have no idea what his schedule is, but he's very nice and has great work. On the more pricey side, there are places like ************** that have multiple teams of photogs. Even if one team is booked, they may have another available for your date.

I'm sorry you're so stressed!
Maybe you can send out emails to vendors? Just copy and paste the email to send you different vendors. This way you can first find out if they're available for your date, and if they are go check them out.
I don't know what county your wedding is in, or what counties you have been looking at vendors in, but if you expand your search to different areas (not too far- nassau, suffolk, queens, westchester, maybe even the bronx?) you may be able to find more vendors.

We booked with Paul Marino also. You should DEFINITELY give him a call. He did my sister and her sister in-laws weddings also and their albums came out amazing.
Sorry I don't know anything about bands since I am using a DJ.

My band is AWESOME...the Seventies Experience...their regular band plays at a lot of bars on the island. It's an 8 piece band that also includes a dj. Their energy makes you want to dance all night. They have all played with famous bands.
They're booked through Absolute Entertainment.

What about Glen Edwards Photography? He is recommended by VIP. Try giving him a call. Don't have his number any more but google him. I've seen his work and he's great.

Try North Island Photography. Michael Rosengard is the photographer and he's very talented. His photos really stood out compared to other vendors...really captured the emotions on people's faces!!!
