I'm stumped - with favors!

I recently just put in my order for favors. I'm doing jars of jam from Briermere farms, as I wanted to keep my favors local products.

ANYWAY.... I can only swing one favor per couple as funds are tight... unless the guest is coming alone.

I keep thinking and thinking and thinking, but how in the world do I make it clear that it is one per couple?!

I wanted to use the jars as placecards too, but my parents are against that idea.

you're gonna have to use them as placecards. this way they just take the one. if you put them on a table somewhere for people to grab they might take 2.

I'm doing jars of jams from a local vendor on the Island as well.

We are also doing one jar per couple. I'm not too worried about it. We are placing them on the table in between the place settings. I'm sure that people will figure it out.

Yeah I figured this - and there is just no way I can possibly have enough for everyone to take one....

I was thinking about putting on a Thank you label..... and having the person's name on that... but i don't know if that would work either.

I wouldn't worry about it because I have never been to a wedding where we both got a favor it's always been 1 per couple...when they give you the envelopes or are saying goodbye just hand them out 1 per couple...HTH

Just place them on the reception table between each place setting. if there are 10 to a table and 5 favors they will know its one per couple.

I would say either as place cards, or at the tables with their names on them at the table.

i thought for the most part its understood that its one favor per couple and usually the women take it.

we did something similar... gave out jars of pasta sauce from our favorite italian restaurant. we gave one per couple (or guest if they were solo) - and the hall handled placing them on the tables at the end of the evening. if i had it to do all over again, i would have labeled them with the guests' names (or given them out as placecards) b/c several guests left early (my wedding ended at midnight on a Sunday) and there were several extras that were not taken home and i don't know who got and who didn't???

one other issue we ran into... we had a lot of OOT guests... and unfortunately, the airport security had taken many of our guests' favors - including my mother's- and my sister's-in law. :(

I would either do them as place cards, or my brother had his maitre d put out his favors on a table as you exit the RH, he did it about cake cutting time and people took them as they left.

Thanks for all the suggestions ladies. I think I'm going to double the favors as placecards - why the hell not - saves me some work!

The only issue I have with getting 'things' with my place card is that if I get them before cocktail hour there's no place to put them and they are awkward to carry around. Just something to think about.

Go to theknot.com. They have some favors on sale I just ordered heart shaped coasters. They're beautiful. I'm gonna have the RH put them on the tables and the guests can take them when its all over hth

i've thought of this same thing - I think I'm going to put them out during hte coctail out, so people won't have to carry them around.
