I'm such a bad bride

My bridesmaids tried so hard to suprise me for my shower - they told me it was on Sunday, at my friends house.

Then I got a sub job on friday and took it, thinking that if i couldn't make it home Friday night, that I would just drive up Saturday morning.

Well, apparently it's really Saturday. And my step-father doesn't wan't me driving up Friday night of memorial day weekend.

She finally told me tonight because of everything. I feel bad taking the sub job - but at the same time, if I turned down one, I was afraid that I wouldn't get called again.

So now I'm driving up to my dad's on friday night (in Northern VA) and then we're leaving at 4am on Saturday (my little sister has a concert in Busch Gardens on Friday night, and has to be picked up at midnight ).

Total craziness! I know it's not really my fault, but I still feel bad about ruining the suprise when they tried so hard to fool me.

It's ok! The surprise only lasts a minute anyway! It's the attention on YOU that lasts the whole time! You'll have a WONDERFUL time anyway, and I think you did the absolute correct thing taking the sub job! You're right, they may not want to call you again if you turned one down

It ok- its so hard to surprise an OTT Bride. I know the date of my shower but I have no idea what they have planned and neither do you so you will be surprised anyway

That's true - I don't know where it is now (she informed me it's not at her house like my invitation stated )

Thanks everyone - I still feel a little bad - but they told me it was Sunday - so I figured I was safe in case I couldn't drive up till Saturday.

On the plus side, though, now I get to relax in the back seat instead of having to drive to NY
