Hey Ladies! I have always thought I would be somewhat bridezilla-esque. Even though I am not getting married until Nov. '08, I want to try and get a lot of the major decisions out of the way so I have more time to look at different options, but I cannot decide on ANYTHING. Colors, dresses, favors, nothing. I have no direction on anything. Its seems like nothing really jumps out at me and one day I kinda like something and the next day I kinda like something else. I dont know if its because its too soon or what. Im super excited, I think Im just scared to make a decision. Any advice? Thanks in advance!!

Re: Im the worst decision maker...any advice
how would you feel about hiring a wedding coordinator? they would give you LOTS of ideas, and then you'll know all your options and that might make you realize what it is you really want.

I know for me its just fear of making the wrong decision ! I just finally took some time to really try to picture the look I wanted and it has gotten somewhat easier since then !

I would try to just book ur major vendors and do alot of research regarding colors., flowers, dresses, etc.
Then you can narrow down your options and finally start making decisions!

I was the same way - I am usually a very good decision maker too..
What I did was only limit myself to x amount of vendors, then make my choice.
Don't worry about dresses, colors, and favors right now...
What do you have done already?

Re: Im the worst decision maker...any advice
I had a similar issue... I don't want a themed wedding, but I also don't want a mish mosh of things, so I needed to figure out what kind of look I was going for. I sat there, one day, and tried to envision my perfect day. As I thought about it, things started to flow... colors, flowers, fabrics, etc. I just made a list of what I wanted and, believe it or not, it all started to come together.
My biggest piece of advice is DON'T settle. You have plenty of time so use it to your advantage!

I think you are just becoming overwhelmed by everything to do. Just do one thing at a time.
Focus on one vendor at a time.

Honestly, I'd start with the dress. Find your dress and then you can find colors/flowers to compliment it. From there, it should get easier.

Re: Im the worst decision maker...any advice
I'd look at the forums on the chat area that show theme weddings and colors, so that you can see pics of differen't ideas and visions. First I'd say to myself...what's my favorite color? What impression to I want my guests to get when the walk into the ceremony and the reception? What is one element that I must have regardless of price? And go from there.... So many brides have soo many great ideas I'd pick their brains....also pick up a wedding magazine or two. Usually the new york bride has good ideas.

I went though something similar. This forum is great for ideas, so use it to your full advantage. A lot of the girls are knowledgeable about places to go and such. I def. lost sleep over my color scheme, style, material, etc.
So what I did is that I got a binder and just prioritized things. then I went from there. For me, once I chose colors, it started to fall into place from there. DOn't try to do everything at once.
And part of the reason I didn't want to decide on anything is because I didn't want to make a mistake.
Don't worry it will all fall into place, you have some time and things change in the wedding world. SO maybe start with getting the big vendors. Trust me that can keep you busy for while
