I'm thinking about painting our master bedroom a green color...
Not too light...not too dark...our furniture is an oak color...what color for a rug? A lighter green???
I was so excited to start decorating my house...but, now I feel like I have no ideas anymore...

How about light beige? You could then add an area rug over your carpet to give it some color.

Thanks Annie, light beige is a good idea, but do you think it'll get too dirty?

Re: I'm thinking about painting our master bedroom a green color...
The carpet I originally wanted for our bedroom my Mom talked us out of, because it was not a neutral color at all and her thing was if we get bored in a year or two of the color that we painted, then what? We will be stuck with a rug that only matches that color wall. So I will make the same suggestion and go with a more neutral color. I don't know the size of your room but with all the furniture that is in a bedroom, you shouldn't have to worry about it getting to worn or dirty most of the floor will not be exposed.
Hope this helps or that I am making any sense

You can always do a wood floor or a pergo floor, and put an area rug over it.
I agree, neutral is always better. Good Luck!!

We were considering a wood floor for the master bedroom...we just did our hallway, living room and dining room with wood floors...but, I think I'd rather have a carpet in our bedroom...I'm thinking it may feel more cozy and romantic that way.

My sister just redid her bedroom. She used a sage color on the walls and she has hardwood floors; but you could go with a tan carpet and get the same effect.

we used dry sage (ben moore) on our walls - we get tons of compliments, as a matter of fact- my next door neighbor saw it and used it as well as my best friend...here are some pics (Although we aren't done with our room yet)

thanks! it's from Crate and Barrel - it's HUGE - but I love it and it's on sale right now for $299
Also - if you do like the dry sage - and you have molding I highly recommend you use November Rain for the molding and doors - NOT white - it is too contrasting.

Really? Is November Rain a really pale green then?

Re: I'm thinking about painting our master bedroom a green color...
it is almost white with a touch of the sage in it - when you look at it - it looks white - but its a little more subtle.
I used white molding for my living/dining room - There it really works cause I have two colors going on in the walls and the contrast is really nice (IMO)
also not done with this room - but this is an old pic - we are a little further along now (lots of new furniture)
