I'm throwing a Bridal Shower & I don't know how!

Hey girls!

Maid of Honor question:
How much time before the wedding date am I supposed to plan the Bridal Shower??

I've heard 3 weeks before the wedding, but my sister (the ) says she thinks about 2 months before. That way she has time to relax and do thank yous and do all her last minute wedding stuff before the wedding comes.

Also, we can't afford to invite all of her female co-workers, so how is that supposed to work??

Thank you!

What about having it at a house to save some money??

Definitely do NOT wait until 3 weeks before...that's a little too close. Is it a surprise? I've been to them as far out as 4 months ahead of time to about 2 months ahead.

Are all of the co-workers invited to her wedding? If so, I kind of think you have to go all or none with that.

2 months is probably better. The last 3 weeks are very hectic.

are her coworkers close? if they aren't, I wouldn't even invite them.

2-4 months out is best. 3 weeks is way too close.

Invite only those female coworkers she is very friendly with (if any). Otherwise, I'd go all or nothing. (To be honest, I don't think inviting coworkers to showers is appropriate, unless you are otherwise very good friends outside of work)

I've thrown more bridal showers than a normal person should. Usually, they are held between 2 and 3 months prior. This gives the bride some time to get things settled, return doubles or triples, write out thank yous, etc.
Are all of her coworkers invited to the wedding? If so, she may want them to be there. Then again, sometimes work people throw their own shower.
As for cost, having it at someone's home is a great way to save. We had a shower in my friends backyard (they had a beautiful patio) and had over 60 people. Each bridal party member (there were 5 of us) contributed about $40 and brought a dish to serve. The food was great, we knew all her favorites to make, and we didn't have to leave at any certain time. People lingered for a while and her now-husband came to pick things up later that evening. We all hung out, had a few drinks, it was great. Not being rushed out is yet another plus to having a shower at a home. FM me if you have any questions, I have games to play and all sorts of random ideas

between 2-4 months before the wedding. as for guests that should be invited, why do you ask your sister to make a list of people who in her mind need to be invited, and then people who should be if you can afford it.
