I'm sorry but I just need to vent today. I'm so unhappy with my job, but I don't know what to do instead. I want to get into writing or publicity or something related, somehow but I have no idea where to start. ahhhhh.. why can't I just win the lotto or something.

Don't worry...I hate my job too...well the school that I am at (I am a teacher). I was in Public Relations before this though. I hated working in a office and got fired from a Publisher that I worked for...but that's another story BUT that's why I went back for teaching.
Ever thought of a career change??

I feel the same way! Some days I am tempted to quit - but I make pretty good money and the 'Wedding FUnd' and 'House Fund' still need alot more $$$$. I want to switch to field bio - which is poor man's work!
Maybe look on careerbuilder or monster.com - i dont really know anything about publicity so I'm no help

so sorry you are having a rough day...have you thought of kinda choosing a field and talking to someone in that field to see how they started??
ha ha, must be one of those days, I gave my two weeks today. My boss obviously forgot to take her medication today and was in such a mood, I can't deal. I have been for six months now but I just can't do it anymore. So now I have to search cause I'm going to be broke. But sometimes you have to sacrifice especially when you aren't being treated fairly or with any respect. So I HAD to leave.

One of my good friends felt the same way. She called up places that sounded like fun to work, and asked to come in for an 'informational interview' It was basically a question and answer session on what the job the person did, what the plusses/minusses were and things that you would do daily. It was informal because she wasn't applying for a particular job, but she found it really helpful.
