I'm using my mother's veil!!!

After years of saying I would never use anything from my mom's wedding - a mantilla (sp?) I put on with a dress I tried was similar to the one my mother used and she asked if I would maybe use hers. I thought in my head 'probably not', actually thinking it wouldnt be in very good condition. However, we pulled it out of the box last night and it is in almost perfect condition!

We brought it with us today when I went to show my mom the dress I like- the wonderful seamstress at Priscilla again was so helpful and said they could easily just steam it and thats it.

So I have decided to use it!!! Hey, I have my somehting old!!

That's so nice! My mother never took care of any of her stuff from her wedding. Her dress is crumpled in the attick and looks like someone pee-ed on it

thanks! She is actually very happy! And when they put it on my head today - she made the whole friggin' salon cry. they were two other brides there- sobbing. It was pretty funny actually.

thats so special! i wish i could wear my mother's but my mom's also seemed to fall victim to an 'accident' or two.

My mom's veil had a whole burned in it when Mom tried to discreetly smoke a cigarette on her wedding day (shame, shame). Instead, I will be having the pearls and crystals from her headpiece reworked into something for me.
