Re: IMMIGRATION HELP
FH just did this for his relatives coming from Poland. I think his letter accompanied an affadavit of support, a proof of his employment and the invitation. The letter explained that while the relatives would be visiting us, FH and his family would be taking full responsibility for their room and board and any expenses that might come up during their stay in the event that the relatives couldn't pay. He briefly explained the nature of the visit and the types of activities that they might also engage in such as trips to LI beaches, trips to NYC, etc.
Basically, you want the government to know that your family will not be a burden on society if they get into any financial trouble.
I will ask FH for a copy of the letter

Re: IMMIGRATION HELP
Why do they need a reason to obtain a visa, other than saying they want to go to the USA?
Can they just go and obtain a visa?
I will ask around..
ETA: I checked the usbis.gov website and can't find hard information on it.
Best thing to do is call immigration and ask or call an immigration attorney.

If it were that simple you would have quadruple the amount of immigrants you have now..........the US embassy does not just give visas to everyone. In Trinidad it costs $1000 dollars ($200 US) just to get an appointment to meet with an immigration officer..........and he is under no obligation to approve anyone........but each appointment there is a fee..............so to answer you question.'no'

I just asked him. As long as he saved it, we should be okay. If not, I will ask him for an outline.
