important question

does anyone know if it matters what side of the hall the bride/groom family sit on??

Re: important question

you can do whatever you want. my FH is only inviting 1 table's worth of people from his family, so we are actually doing a 'family' side and a 'friends' side at the reception.

We had his family on one side and mine on the other but no side in particular.. but we wanted both our parents tables to be head tables..

We tried to do that, but it didn't work out. In the end, we just sat family members close to each other on whatever side of the room that needed to be filled.

Re: important question

IMHO, a marriage is the joining of two families, and it is silly to separate the room into 'the groom's side' and 'the bride's side'. The whole dance floor spliting the room in two makes me nuts, and I made sure I booked a hall that doesn't do that!

Re: important question

see my hall had the middle dance floor..
the rest of the place was in a circle of all our family and friends.. so just the parents were at the heads
no one was sitting at our wedding so it was cool..
