IMPORTANT QUESTION

my mother and my bridal party is throwing my shower, so my moh called all the girls and told them if each give $40.00 it will cover the hall, food, decorations and a gift for me and fh, and any cost after that she and my mom will cover. well the one bm said NO that is to much and even if it were lower she isnt giving. but said she would bring a dish, . so now the other girls dont want her signing the card for fh and I. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Re: IMPORTANT QUESTION

i dont blame them!!! $40 is nothing to soend on a shower!!!! she should be willing to do what they need.....i know its hard . they should tell her everyone is giving the same ammount...if she doesnt like it oh well! honestly if that happened in my BP id hope the others would step up and say something....thats not cool!!! $40 is an awesome ammount!

Re: IMPORTANT QUESTION

Honestly $40 is the lowest I have heard of a BM being asked for contribution for the shower. My girls aregiving in $150 each and they all thought that was reasonable. All the weddings I have been in I have given over $100 towars the shower.

The other girls are 100% correct. Her name should NOT go on the card from the rest of the bp. If she does not chip in she does not go on the card. End of story in my opinion.

Sorry to be so harsh, but I just think that is so rediculous.

Re: IMPORTANT QUESTION

$40 is not a lot of $$$ for a shower and a gift. i agree, she should NOT be signing the card if she's not contributing, esp if she's going to make a dumb comment that even if it was less, she still would not contribute! i take it she's giving her own gift then, and that's the only card she should be signing. if she has $$ issues, i could understand her not contributing, but she should not expect to sign the card then, JMO.

Re: IMPORTANT QUESTION

That is rude of her. I was in a BP and was expected to give $200 plus a gift. I dont blame them for not wanting her to sign the card.

However you know what has happened so even if she DOES sign the card,, you know that the shower is not from her

Re: IMPORTANT QUESTION

$40 is not a lot of money to contribute to your shower. If she was a true friend she would pay. I do not blame them for not letting her sign the card if she did not contribute. Word of advice you should not be worried about that, let them deal with that issue you are there to have a good time. Sorry to be so harsh...

Re: IMPORTANT QUESTION

Thanks, everyone. and NO you werent being harsh, I personally thought that was a very low price. and the shower isnt until April 20th, she works with me and we became friends. she could have split that up out of her pays. the only reason I FOUND out about this is another bm told me because she was appalled by it. she never mentioned a thing about it to me at work.

Re: IMPORTANT QUESTION

$40 is not a lot of money at all to contribute. That being said I think you should stay out of it and not get involved. Let them handle it. You don't need the stress.
