Re: IMPORTANT!! Rehearsal dinner???
Both weddings that I was in...there were invites...not fancy ones but they were mailed out. I think you need them...to remind people of the time and place and stuff

Re: IMPORTANT!! Rehearsal dinner???
Oh God.. I thought you meant invitations.
SORRY
Anyway...when my FI was in a wedding last year (before we were engaged) I was invited to the rehearsal dinner and so were the other girlfriends of the groomsmen. But they all had serious girlfriends.
If its just to invite someone with a date like you would at a wedding than I don;t think so

Re: IMPORTANT!! Rehearsal dinner???
I invited dates- but it is only BP that are invited with dates.. I mean, everyone else is married and an unmarried aunt and uncle of FH's are not invited with dates- as there is no one they are with right now..
As for the actual RD- it is catered, with passed items, menu selection the whole nine..

Re: IMPORTANT!! Rehearsal dinner???
I have been to a few set up different... some gave us a choice... other places served family style and just put a bunch of food down in front of us.... also sometimes it is cash bar, or soda, beer and wine only... it all depends what you can set up with the restaurant...

Re: IMPORTANT!! Rehearsal dinner???
We invited dates. Guests had a choice of 5 entrees, 2 salads, open bar, coffee & dessert (but we provided our own grooms cake from Audreys who delivered the cake there a couple of hours before because it was a surprise for DH).

Re: IMPORTANT!! Rehearsal dinner???
Every place does it differently. Some places include alcohol, some don't. Some have options, some serve family style. We had a rehearsal brunch the weekend before the wedding. We invited BP with their SO (some brought them, some did not), both sets of parents, FG, RB and his parents. We had family style appetizers (crudite and sesame chicken sates), choice of like 4 or 5 entrees, mud pie with ice cream for dessert and it included champagne, mimosas and bloody Mary's. It was $19.95 plus tax pp.

Re: IMPORTANT!! Rehearsal dinner???
i would invite guests.. how would you feel if you weren't invited to a RD that your significant other was in. I had thathappend to me and i really didn't appreciate it, so we are having everyone bring thier guest.

I definitely think dates should be invited.
I've actually never been to one where dates were not invited.

Re: IMPORTANT!! Rehearsal dinner???
i would most def invite dates. If my fiance was in a wedding party (before we got engaged) and I wasnt invited, I would think thats wrong.
If they have serious gf/bf I would say def yes!

i don't really have a choice... i am not paying for it i think the same way as you do and that is why i am in a bind....it would turn out to be 50 people!
