I like where i get my hair cut, but kind of looking to try another place just to get out of the same old routine, My hair is long and highlighted, seems like no matter what I can never wear it the way that I want to , I always have it held back in a clip or ponytail, my hair is thick and curly....... I am in the North Bellmore area. Any suggestions?! ( Not in the mood to pay 100.00 for a cut either.) Thanks in advance.

I know you don't want to spend a lot but if you have curly hair you might want to try Devachan salon in Soho. It is amazing. They do workshops on Mondays and you don't have to pay. You just have to volunteer as a model. I go to Carlos and he charges $95 but you only really have to go twice a year. He is amazing if you want to wear your hair curly. I also have long hair. Hope that helped.

i cant help you much but i had the same problem.
i want to a lady in Stamford, CT she charged me 85 and it was soo worth it
she gave me graduated bangs - angles- buit a little higher - and they frame my face the exact way that i want
she also gave me layers.
sometimes its worth it to pay a little more just to get a good cut. then your normal stylist can follow what the other person did. you just need at least a good base cut.

i agree, if you are really in a rut, i think it is best to suck it up and go somewhere good and get pampered alittle bit. Make you feel like a princess. Try Maximus in Merrick.

Okay, I am taking the plunge and going to make myself feel good and going to try a new nice place, and I am willing to pay the extra $$$. Thanks for the input.. I will let u know how it goes.

I just got my haircut at a new place last night and I love it! I've been getting my hair cut on LI at the same place since I was 12. I hate change and was worried about switching, but I live in CT and work in NYC so there's no point in me traveling to my parents' place just to get a haircut. I went with a co-worker who has been going there for years. It's called scott j salon on columbus ave and 72nd (they have a couple of locations thoughout the city). I used Orion, who was great. He really made me feel confortable and I totally trusted him with my hair. It wasn't too expensive either for city standards ($57).
