in between church & reception

Hi, everyone!

I am a newbie here, recently engaged, 10000% stressed about everything that has to get done. But, this site has been a lifesaver already so I just wanted to thank you guys in advance!

We checked out limos tonight to get prices, and my mom and I have a difference in opinion on our needs. We'll be having a mid-afternoon church ceremony and can get to our RH at 6:15 (I think) for pre-cocktail hour photos. That leaves 1-2 hours in between for other photos. In every wedding I've been do, just the bridal party does the 'in between' photos. But my mom thinks her, my dad, FH's parents, possibly my aunt & uncle should tag along in a limo. Does that make sense? We'll be doing family photos at the church & RH, so isn't it a waste of their time?

I'm thinking:
- Families, FH & groomsmen meet at church (possibly drive themselves)
- Limo picks up me & BMs and takes us to church
- Only me, FH & bridal party is driven around for 'in between photos' & dropped off at the RH for the 6:15 photos
- Families go home & relax for a bit, then are driven in limos to the RH for 6:15 photos.
- Assume everyone will take shuttle at the end of the night to the hotel.

Mom thinks what I said above - they'll be driven around for 'in between' photos.

Who's right here? I honestly don't care if she's right and I'm wrong (lol). I'm just confused!! Take into account that my house & the hotel are 25 mins from the church in one direction, and 25 mins from the RH in the other direction.

My mom came with us but didn't take pics with us because she was staying at the hotel. My ILs went home and then met up with us at the RH

My church is at 2:30 and cocktail hour is at 7:00. After the church just me, FH and the wedding party will go and take pictures and then meet my mom and fh's mother and our immediate family at the reception hall for the family pictures. My mom lives 5 min from the church so after the church she is going to go home with my brother and his family (which are not in the wedding party) and they will go together to the reception hall.

The last wedding I was in the parents did come with the bridal party and took pics before the reception. They took pics with the entire family at the RH. I think it all depends on what you want to do, its your wedding. If you feel that pics with parents at the RH are enough then do it your way, if you want pics with parents at the location you are going to go to to take pics then have them come with you.
