I was a DZ a Bryant College. Not ashamed of it at all. Bryant was a small school, so the sorority wasn't very big. I became closer with some of my sisters than I did my HS friends. One of them will even be in my wedding party!
We had pledge names, and used them. Because we refer to each other on this site as our user names, sometimes I feel like I am back at college!

Nope - my college didn't have any sororities (it was a teeny liberal arts college) - it didn't even have frats!

no... I was a commuter. Went to class went home. I don't think I would have been in one if I went away though, its not my personality.

Proud Phi Sigma Sigma sister here! I loved my sorority and I am still super close with tons of my sisters. The FH is a TKE and he's really close with his brothers. Needless to say our bridal party and guests will be full of Greeks! Frats and sororities get a bad name, it's a shame. I couldn't imagine my college years without it.

Yup...SDT at Geneseo! FH was an SAE at Bucknell.
Hey Deephers, my MOH was a Deepher at Oswego!
Sorority was awesome, I met all of my best friends in it. We still are very close today.

I agree. People called it 'paid friendship' . You tell me how it is possible to be best friends with over 100 girls at the same time. Truth is I couldnt stand many of the girls in my house, but I did learn how to respect them and value their differences in opinion. To this day, I am very close to some of them. We were from all over the country so it was impossible to stay in touch with and/or visit with them all. We go/went to each others weddings and share in other happy events too. It is also amazing how when I come across 'sisters' in my daily life, we talk about how it was 'back then' and all the fun times. They were very different from chapter to chapter.

It was great while it lasted but I am not even friends with any of them anymore...we grew apart and they lived in CT anyway...It was a good experience...helped me to make friends and to branch out but its different from school to school

Hey, I was a Phi girl too! Actually, I was even president of my chapter of Alpha Phi at Cornell. But then again, we were kind of atypical sorority chicks anyway.
