I think FH and I are going to kill each other if we don't see someone soon. Can anyone recommend someone?

I don't know anyone who you could go see, but what's going on? Is this something that can be resolved, or will it get worse once you're married? (Don't mean to sound rude or anything)

Sorry you're going through this
What about finding a counselor through your job? Some places offer that.

Re: In desparate need of a marriage counselor.
I think it's just personality conflicts that can easily be resolved, with help.
I am an only child and have lived alone most of my life. I am not used to having to answer questions about where I am going every time I get off the friggin couch, who I am talking to, or what I am thinking EVERY GODDAMN MINUTE!
He thinks I do everything wrong, I am intentionally trying to do things to bother him and trying to hurt him. I'm sorry, I didn't know I needed to be sensitive when throwing out the GODDAMN TRASH!!!
Ugh!
There are just issues we need to deal with and he just isn't listening to me and I just don't understand what his problems are. So I think a third party would help us work these things out.

I think this is always a good route to go! I don't have anyone in particular in mind but here are a couple I found in the NYC area (you're in Brooklyn, if I remember correctly, right?). Also, check with your insurance company. If they cover mental health (which they absolutely should, but that's a whole other topic), it is possible at least part of this will be covered.
where do you live? I am getting my phd in psychology and know a bunch of people.

Re: In desparate need of a marriage counselor.
Hi fashionhag! I just wanted to tell you that my fiance and I have been seeing a counselor about 5 times and it has made a HUGE difference in our relationship and our communication with each other. My fiance hates to tell anyone that we are going, but I don't care b/c it has helped so much. He, too, is an only child and very used to getting his way and getting his butt wiped :) And we are both really independent people so it is a little challenging at times. Anyway, it has made a world of difference for us and also gives us an outlet where we can vent about life, each other, weddings, and families in a non-threatening environment and don't have to feel like our relationship is being scrutinized. I hope that you find someone good :)

I think speaking to someone will definitely help. Is he asking you these things in a possessive way or is it just his nature. When FH and I moved in together we learned that you sort of have to say when and where you are going out of courtesy. When we make plans now, we consult eachother first and make the decision together.

(also getting my doctorate in psych (psy.d.): do you have any friends who are in therapy? it's so hard to choose a therapist, kinda like throwing a needle into a haystack. . .but, if you have any friends or relatives in therapy (of ANY kind), ask them to ask their therapist if they can recommend someone. . .then check with your insurance company
