Hey ladies...This is my first post on LI weddings so Im hoping that you all can give me a hand. I am in the process of searching for a photographer but am coming up empty.
Hopefully you can give me some suggestions. Here's what I am looking for:
1. Someone who is professional, timely, responsible, etc... 2. Someone who is talented and creative in terms of a photojournalistic approach...I like the standard shots but I really want to hire someone who can truly capture the essence of the day. 3. The final product is clear, crisp, clean photos...Not grainy or blurry like I see on a lot of sites..... 4. Is on Long Island or willing to travel (has to be in LI, NYC, Queens, etc area)...Not out of state!
Of course there are more points but these are the main ones for now!

Art-isticimages.com We used artistic images and Artie (the owner) was awesome!!! WE also got the 2nd photographer for photojournalistic pictures. So, Artie took the posed/traditional pics. There are some posted in my album. He is located in Suffolk County but will travel. He is also very reasonably priced and SO much fun to work with!!!

Try Perceptions. They're a vendor on here. They did a fantastic job on my brother's wedding and are shooting my wedding next weekend!

I LOVED my photographer. He doesn't advertise, people hear of him from past clients.
He did a photojournalist approach, he was on time and works with his wife who is soooo sweet. He thought of everything, pins, chalk for the dress (just in case) and they made my DH blot his forehead before some pictures so he wasn't shiny.
Highly recommend him!!!

In the past year, I have attended three weddings in which Patken did the photographs and video...each had the same result..stunning! Make your appointments, see what each has to offer and go from there...good luck to you.
I agree...their work is amazing. My friend's proofs came out great and I know of so many people that have used them and loved them.

Jeffrey Studios - with Alan...he's in Nesconset but goes EVERYWHERE... he did my friends' weddings and was amazing! VERY professional and works with what you want and need - and not too $$$

These are my absolute FAVORITE as well. Too bad I found out about them after I booked another photographer. Don't get me wrong, my photographer is great but the 3 listed are beyond amazing!!!
I suggest that you make as many appointments as possible. Pictures are the most important things you will have to remember your day.
Don't let anyone pressure you into booking on the spot. You have to do your research.
Shot my sister's wedding 13 years ago, is shooting mine in October.

Definitely check out Denise Chastain of Modern Wedding Photography. www.modernweddingphotography.tv She's an amazing photojournalist and will do portraits, but they're very natural looking. She did AMJA's wedding recently. Check out her review and pics.

oh you HAVE to.. HAVE to.. go see Dom at 12th night.. i went to see him today adn left feeling like wow.. i liked him so much that after fh and i left fh had to go somewhere, i went home and got my mom and took he BACK to 12th night.. i took her to duet and then 12th night today.. even she was like wow when we left 12th night..
the guy is amazing.. and like i said in my other post this evening bout him.. he was the only photographer i've met that treated photography as the art that it is.. not just a business go see him.. he's great
WOOT WOOT!! I love Dom. We booked with Twelfth Night so naturally, I suggest them. I just took my e-pics with them, they are in my album. Geraldine is my photographer.
