In DESPERATE NEED of an ENT DOCTOR!

I am so angry! I had 2 sinus infections this year, and thought maybe the one I had 1 month ago was coming back or it was allergies. Well, it took 2 hour sthat I waited to have docotor call me back becuase they never called me, I called them twice. and then when I called them again 3 hours later, they told me they have to grab the doctor to ask him if I need to be seen or if they can just call in something for me. Well , I am TTC too, so I do not know if I am preg or not, so the doctor tells me to take sudafed and get a CAT scan! Hello, why would I get a Cat scan for my sinuses? I can see if I am sick all the time, which I am not , why put myself thru one, and why expose myself to radiation and I am claustrophobic too. So I called my insurance carrier, which is a very good insurance carrier and reported this to them and they told me , the docotrs office were going to send me for it becuase it pays big time $$ to the doctor, and it was unnessary to go for a CAT scan. They are going to send me the book of part. providers, but in the meantime I thought I would ask for a recoomendations from all of you. You have all been so helpful in previous things I have asked for help in. I need a good ENT on the South Shore of Nassau county and no one who is an alarmist. PS They sent my aunt the week before for an unnecassary test and she is reporting the doctor too! PSS I did my masters thesis on things like this and never thought it could happen to me! Ia m sooo angry! Also it is almost impossible to get an appt there u have to practically beg them for one.

I have a good ENT on the North Shore of Suffolk- Smithtown, Dr. Lapinski.

They sent my DH for a cat scan for his sinus'. I thought it was odd too, but apparently not so much. It only too 30 mins or so and its not an MRI and you might be confusing that with the CatScan.

I get sinus infections a lot, and just keep taking Rx's. If you are prego, I'm not sure what test and Rx you can take. But I think Sudefed is okay. (I'm not a doc or pharmasit).

My mom had pollups in her nasal cavity that had to get removed and she hasn't had a sinus infection in years. Its no big deal (if you aren't prego). It could have waited too if she was/you are. They weren't cancer or anything, just things.

I guess a cat scan could have showed them and the cause of the sinus infections.

I have to second Dr. Lapinski!

My DH had a really bad ear infection and he was the only one who got rid of it. The walk in Dr he originally saw did nothing for him.
