SO after reading the post about Karen & her vendors I freaked out a bit... and I emailed the BM at my RH to ask what he would do in a situation like this! (I should add here that we talk on a daily basis & have become friends- he will most likely be on the list of guests at the wedding!!) So anyways- this is what he wrote to me in response to my freak out email: (I should also add here that there has been MORE THAN ONE incident where I freaked out over something & wrote hima frantic email..)
OK Fav Bride,
You need to step away from your computer, hands off the mouse and STOP making yourself crazy. You will end up in a nuthouse before your wedding is even close. In order to cancel we take blood and do a retna scan to prove you are you and not a long lost twin, bcuz one time this bride had a twin separated a birth who was out to get her and tried to cancel her wedding, also we do a secret pass word yours is “Iwasnormalbeforeallthisweddingstuffdecayedmybrain” but just one question,,HOW DO I KNOW THIS IS YOU, and not some girl at your work who is at your desk because you called in sick today ARRRRRRGGGGGGHHH!!!
he SOOO cracks me up!

Re: In light of recent events...
you know its scary knowing someone would cancel vendors on you, but i remember talking to other brides and telling them about creating a secret password to tell your vendors to write on the contract that way if some lunatic calls and tries to cancel, the vendor can refer to their sheet and ask the password!!!!

Re: In light of recent events...
haha that is too funny he sounds cool!!!
yeah i like the password thing or just having it in your contract that i need to come in person to cancel. i mean that is one reason why i will keep my vendor info up because please if some b!%$@ wants to try to even cancel something of mine- first off I will def get her off LIW and protect all of us Brides and also know that my vendors are SMART ENOUGH to know that I am not cancelling becuse I would never CALL them and tell them I want to cancel...I need to show up!!
SO BRING IT ON PSYCHOS--- Wanna try to ruin my wedding day- I GOT ALMOST 200 08 BRIDES WHO HAVE MY BACK AND I HAVE THEIRS HAHAHAHA

either in person or one vendor said they accept a notarized letter and they match the signature
if someone goes out of their way to notarize a letter - that is just sad
also - it is kind of a long process since money is involved so i am sure there would be phone calls back and forth and some kind of correspondence before any actual cancellation.

yeah exactly, i dont think a vendor would just get a call to cancel and say ok goodbye.
