i wanted to do bo-k charms (in my album) for my in memory of, but FH thinks its a juvenile idea. (he actually said its sweet 16ish). i have 4 people in which i want to do something for so a flower vase & the candle idea are out.
a friend of mine did a photo collage but i feel that is too noticeable. i want to do something simple & elegant.
does anyone have any ideas of what i can do??

Re: In memory of
I have 5 people for the in memory of, I am doing just basic tall candles and writing an poem on them. They will go across the fireplace where we will be sitting. Is there somewhere like that at your RH, so you can still do the candles?
I am also doing a bo-k charm for 1 person, and I think its a beautiful way to remember someone special that day.

I don't think it's juvenile at all. I'm doing it...plenty of brides on here have done it. I think it's a nice and classy way to memorialize those that have past. I'm going to have 5 charms on mine. I've seen plenty of pictures on here of past brides that have done it and it has come out gorgeous. Have the florist incorporate the ribbons from the charms into your bo-k. Will see if I can find pics.

Love that idea. My plan was to do a table full of candles and photos with rose petals. Don't know if I'm going to do it though.

I dont think its junvenile at all! We have 4 people to honor....we're doing the memorial candles and I'm going to get something like this and place one candle on the top with a poem and the other 4 with the people's names.

i was thinking of just doing the bo-k charms anyway. i found ones that i really love & was going to do two photos in each so i would only need 2 charms. i am going to ask my sister if she has any alternative ideas. (shes very crafty)

OHHH i love this idea... I was just going to get some pillar candles and some glass holders and have the names etched onto it, then put it on the mantle peice behind the two of us...I think i like this idea better

I love Laura's pic. Unfortunately we have too many people to memorialize (FHs grandparents, my grandparents, my dad, my godfather, 2 cousins, and 2 uncles) that I may just write something on the back of the program and have a bo-k charm for my dad.

Re: In memory of
Im framing a poem and leaving a single rose out in front of it. Then in the program we will have a memorial list. The poem works because it can be applied to anyone who has passed but doesnt make one person more impt then another it sorta can apply to whoever the person reading it thinks it applies to

Re: In memory of
I'm going to ask my BM to set up a small cocktail table in the room and it will have small candles and photos of the people who are no longer with us that we wish were here for out day.. maybe have a poem on the table too.
I think the 'In Memory of' is lovely and a very respectful thing to do for the people you miss & love.

I love bo-k charms. My grandmother is our only in memory of. I am printing her wedding picture on a candel and also giving her a bo-k charm.
