Anyone have ideas on how to include a memorial for members of family who've passed away? My fiance and I both have lost a grandparent and I wanted to honor them in some way. I was thinking of setting a picture frame up with their picture and a poem on the guest book table. Any other suggestions?

Thanks. That's a great idea. Are you having a special table for it or where are you placing it?

Re: In memory of grandparents
does your dj do a video montage on the plasmas? my friend had them add a song and pics of her grandfather towards the end of the montage because he was in the hospital about to pass away and it was so nice.

Re: In memory of grandparents
I was going to light a memorial candle but the more I thought about it I dont think I can handle it. It hasn't been a full year since my grandmother passed and I was REALLY close with her and I took her death really hard so even though I would love to do it I dont think it would end up being a good thing.
But I think it is such an excellent idea for you girls to do it. You can do a candle with a photo next to it. You can get bo-k charms.

Re: In memory of grandparents
Why don't you have your officiant incorporate something to be said during your ceremony or a speech done by the BM or MOH or yourself and DH? You can even dedicate a song to them and dance to it and have it announced.
You might want to also wear something of theirs as the 'something old'
Just don't get too over the top it need to just be a remembrance and not a memorial service - It is your wedding day!
Speaking from some experience, and a heavy heart during that day - I will tell you they are there with you at all times no matter what watching over the whole day

Re: In memory of grandparents
This is a topic I was going to ask about later. My FH's father and my grandmother are the two people we want to do something in memory of.
I always wondered if it's something that's done during the ceremony or at the reception. Thanks for bringing this topic up.

Re: In memory of grandparents
We had a special poem at the end of our programs and listed the names of the people we were remembering. It was nice and subtle. We didnt want to have anything at the reception...just a little something. I think it worked nicely.

Re: In memory of grandparents
I too am planning on a bouquet charm...maybe of both sets of grandparents' on their wedding day (if I can find pics). I'm planning on seeing if my one of my grandmothers left behind any antique lockets...which can be my 'something old?' We'll see!
