Does anyone know of a good calligrapher that they can recommend to me? Thanks.

Have you heard in Bellmore has a great one, she truely does it the right way! She was much too much for us b/c we are sending out 200+ invites..
You can call them though, they would be handwritten and the proper calligraphy size..
not that computer printed stuff

It is pricy but if you don't have alot of invites it is true caligraphy... So, it is worth it. We have too many invites so we are getting it done by lazer printer through Crystal International..

I'm ordering my invites tonight!!!

consider doing yourself?

I know...you are probably thinking I am crazy...but I was ready for computer printed addresses, until I got my STD cards stuffed already ( I had a string tied around it with a feather)...I could not take them out, b/c it would have ruined the card if I put it back in...I also could not run it through a printer...so I went back to the small amount of calligraphy I knew...

1. I bought a felt tip calligraphy pen from the drug store to see if I was any good...I was (you'd be amazed how well the pen helps you...if you hold it at the right angle)

2. Went and got a real calligraphy pen and did 100 STD cards (recipients and return address) in one night...and they turned out pretyt well...I have been practicing for the invites..

It doesn't hurt to try to see if you are any good...and it makes it so much more personal...

I have also heard of www.calligraphylady.com but you have to send her your envelopes via mail...

Call Gail from Simply Elegant at 718-357-6124. I ordered my invites from her and she just emailed about a calligrapher who charges $2.00 per set of envelopes. I'm not using the calligrapher, but I think that's a really good price.

I just ordered my invites there about 2 weeks ago. They use a woman who charges $3.25 for a set (inner and outer envelope). I don't know if I will be using her.
