In need of inexpensive reception site
Hi girls. Well my baby sister got engaged last week. He proposed to her on the airplane going to FL. He had the pilot make an announcement. Very romantic in my opinion.Anyway, now the really fun part comes. This is his second marriage and he has a child. They don't have a lot of money, but she still wants a beautiful wedding (its her first). I need to know of some pretty, inexpensive places she can look at. Maybe $45-$55 a person. They are willing to go off season (thinking January, 2004). And they can have a day wedding too. Any help would be soo much appreciated.

Re: In need of inexpensive reception site
I think Swan Club was in that range for during the day, also since it is January Stewart Manor Country Club might work as well.

Re: In need of inexpensive reception site
Do they want a full wedding; music, dancing, 100+ guests etc...or a smaller, scaled down version.Try the meadow club in Pt. Jeff and the Carriage House at the Milleridge Inn (not the big venue, their smaller verision). I suggest a Sunday brunch. They could probably get a lot for their money.
Also, Windows on the Lake (not a personal recommendation from me, but I have read) does a wedding for pretty inexpensive.

They should also check out the Riviera, it is on the water which would be very pretty for a day wedding.

Re: In need of inexpensive reception site
I know for sure the Coral House is VERY inexpensive. She should definitely check it out. My friend got married there and only paid $48 per person in March. The Huntington Town House also has special for like $40 per person. I do not recommend any of these two locations personally but I completely understand the $$ situation. I'm sure these places would do just fine for an afternoon wedding.

Re: In need of inexpensive reception site
Depending on the amount of guests, she could also try the Three Village Inn. We got a wonderful package in June for only $65 so i'm sure January would be much cheaper than that.Good luck!!

Re: In need of inexpensive reception site
I agree with Riviera. It is so romantic, small though. They say they can hold 200 but no way. We are having about 150 and it was too small in my opinion. We both really liked the romantic feel though and the view is beautiful!

Re: In need of inexpensive reception site
You can also try one of the scotto brothers halls (fox hollow, westbury manor or chateau briand) - we are paying $60 for a friday night in january so it should be a little less expensive on a day in jan.

Re: In need of inexpensive reception site
I visited Jericho Terrace w/my FI this past weekend and we were quote $75pp for end of April for a Sunday night wedding. SO, I'm sure they would be able to come down for your sister since it's January and would be able to do a day wedding. Good Luck and tell you sister Congratulations from us!

Re: In need of inexpensive reception site
When we were looking at reception halls, we went to the Coral House and the food was DELICIOUS. We didn't pick the hall because of the amount of people that we expected and the size of the room they offered us.Welcome New Vendors
