IN NEED OF SERIOUS HELP!!!!

IN NEED OF SERIOUS HELP!!!!

As if I wasn't stressed out enough...Lillette's called me today to tell me that there is a 'problem' with my bridesmaids dresses. Supposedly, they have not even been MADE yet and they were supposed to be in the store no later than June. I ordered them A YEAR AGO. Well, it seems that the people over at Bill Levkoff are having problems with their machines and cannot put the beading on the dresses. Lillette's can put the beading on, but it would look completely different. The reason I chose the dress was because the beading matched my wedding gown. My question is....is it too late to order a completely different dress, OR should I try to check out department stores to find fancy dresses, like prom dresses (my girls are all young). It doesn't help that I am planning from Rochester and can only come home once in a while. Please help! Thanks a bunch!!

Are the dresses really awful without the beading?? At least with them you know for sure you at least HAVE dresses. I'd be nervous ordering something this close.

ugh, sorry you have to deal with this...

we ordered the bridesmaids dresses online and got them in about 4 weeks (and saved tons), so you may be able to go that route if you have another dress in mind.

Otherwise, there are great options off the rack.

You could also consider different dresses for the girls (if you can't find all the right size in one off the rack). All of my BMs were in the same color and length but different styles (strapless, tank, two-piece, etc). They were After Six/Dessy dresses and it looked awesome. Each girl got a dress she liked and looked good on her.

Here's where we ordered from:
bestbuybridal.com
gownsonline.com

Good luck!

I got my bridesmaids dresses on line at www.bridesmade.com, for $45 each! they needed to be altered a bit, they got delivered in one week! But, really, you can get great stuff off the rack, I would give that a shot.

Lillette's HAS to straighten this out!! You paid them they screwed up!!! You have to talk to them & get loud & angry!! I was in a wedding party last year & the skirts from our dresses came in the wrong color 3 times!! Flowerama in Elmont were not very helpful until we got loud. Amazingly enough Bill Levcoff was able to send 5 skirts overnight! If you have to try to get in touch with Levcoff themselves!! (I think that's wat my friend did) Good Luck!!

Thanks for your good advice! I'll be sure to check out those websites. I'm also going to look around today at some stores to see if I can find anything. :)

If you need to get dresses because things don't work out, go to Estelles in Farmingdale.
My girls got their dresses there and the don't need any aloterations and they are EXACTLY what I would have ordered from a bridal shop anyway, and you get to take them home with you that day.
They really do have a great selection. My girls paid only $114 each!!!
Good luck with your dresses, I hope it works out!
Just a plan B in case you get stuck!

In case you end up having to buy off the rack, I am in a wedding in aug and we got really nice dresses from Bloomingdales. They give a discount if you buy 6 or more, and they were very helpful with calling other stores to get all the sizes. Good Luck!

I'm sorry! I'm sure it will work out in the end. You could always buy dresses from a department store, just to be on the safe side, and then if no one wears them b/c the dresses you ordered came in, just return the dresses to teh dep't store. Obviously you'd need to make sure the department store's return policy would allow you to do this & keep the reciepts.

You can also try Jessica McClintock. My girls really liked a dress from there, and you buy off the rack, if they're special occasion dresses, rather than bridesmaid dresses. If they don't have the size you need in the shop, they will either ship them from the warehouse or from other stores. We had them all in about one week. Good luck with everything! I hope it all works out for you. Will you get all your money refunded??
