In random DH/TV news....(Suz, you'll probably be able to relate)

Last night after forcing him to watch the Flavor of Love finale specatular, I switched to MTV (what else?) to check out some Laguna Beach.

He F.R.E.A.K.E.D.

'I've put up with Real World, the challenges, two seasons of Flavor of Love, Surreal Life, the True Hollywood Stories, I love the 80s, 90s, 70s, more I love the 80s and all of the other MTV crap that you watch - but I refuse to allow this trash to be on when I'm home with you.'

I asked him why.

'There is absolutely nothing to be gained by watching this show; it has no value whatsoever.'

Because everything else he listed is quality.

Maybe he's right - because of Flavor of Love, he now knows what I'm saying when I call myself the HBIC.

HAHAHAHA - I have had that conversation MANY times with DH (he abhors Laguna and Project Runway the most).

HBIC!

I equate reality tv with sports - which I find completely boring and useless (and a hockey game is 3 hours, while Laguna is a mere 1/2 hour). So if I have to watch hockey, then he can sit and learn about the toys of the 80s and the teens of Laguna

I think that DH is secretly jealous of their teenage rich existence. Plus he freaking HATES the way that they talk.

Laguna Beach can easily turn into 3 hours though - especially with MTV's love for marathons.

This is true. I remember once making DH watch Rich Girls - that was the end of any tolerance he had for reality MTV. Alas........

And I didn't even think he would hate I LOVE the 80s - I totally thought I was compromising, then he revolted. And here I thought I was being nice by putting that on instead of MTV-reality and/or dating shows.

I thought I was helping the Laguna Beach cause by watching Two-a-days. That helped me for half of an episode.

eta - my DH is older so he preferred last half of I love the 70s How could a child of the 80s hate I love the 80s?

This post makes me realize just how lucky I am for having DH - he thinks VH1 is just as cracktastic as I do.

Me too! We have the same exact taste in tv - he's awesome!
