would we want to do an a la carte ordering thing...or make this official and get together with a restaurant/hall and do a per person menu thing...

thoughts? suggestions? jokes? sexy men?

The per person/menu thing might make the whole bill paying process easier and will let people know how much it's going to be beforehand.

On the other side, some people might just be popping in for a drink so it might discourage them...

I think that it's easier to set up a menu so that everyone pays the same price (it makes it easier when the bills comes).
(Except for me. I'll be riding the short bus there to eat my salad.)

I agree. Plus, it saves us the confusion of configuring the 'tax and tip' for those that ordered salads vs. those that ordered steaks...

I like the idea of making it formal at a hall/restuarant, it would def be the GTG of all 06 GTGs!!!!

I'd just be worried about having to meet a minimum since we usually have last-minute drop outs. Funny, that was the same thing I worried about for my wedding (seems like ages ago!).

A lot of restaurants have fixed price menus that are for big groups - I don't think a hall would be a good idea with minimums and all that. We should find a restaurant that we can leave a small deposit and then pay for whoever shows up, but it would be at a fixed price.

i think that pay per person is a good thing...and since we are planing it way ahead...we should give the money up front to a person who is going to take care of it..that way....if i will pay i have to show up..and that will give us an exact count....jmo...

Jonathans in garden city park is awesome.. a little on a fancier side as far as restaurants go...they have a very nice/big private room in the back... not sure what there prices are but you can check. It is centrally located for many because it is in Nassau...not far from the floral terrace.

I would only look at something like that if we have at least 40 people.

I honestly think we need to do a nice closing to our year! If it was something formal & pp, that would be great like others mention when it comes to paying!

And yes, we would have to get a set menu so the $$$ is spread equally between all.

You don't want someone just getting a salad or a drink getting tagged for someone else eating filet mignon, a desert and coffee!!!
