In search of a Catholic priest who will marry you in a Catering Hall?

Hi everyone, I am helping my cousin find someone to marry her and FI. They would like to get married at their reception site and would like a Catholic priest. I have read b/4 on this site that there are priests who will marry you outside of the Church.

Any and all leads are greatly appreciated.

TIA

This might be difficult to come by because that's not really accepted by the Catholic church (from what I've read and heard) unless it's an interfaith marriage. Supposedly, a marriage that takes place outside the Catholic church is not formally recognized by the Catholic church but there are 'rogue' priests that do perform the ceremony. At least, this is what I've read.

Also, I've heard that you can put in a special request to have a marriage performed outside the church for extenuating circumstances but supoosedly this process could take months to be approved also. I think it's called a dispensation.

Good luck!

Fr. Henry Fehrenbacher married us at the reception. Hall. he is a really nice man. RC priest who is willing to perform mass where you need it. We're both Catholic and it wasn't a problem. (212) 594-2069

Father Joe DiVincenzo is marrying us but he is a reformed priest. He has a great personality, great sense of humor--

Most Catholic priests, if not all, WILL NOT marry outside a church...and Father Joe was the closest we came to finding one. LOL

Does he actually belong to a church in which he is the priest/monsignor/etc.

A friend of the family, perhaps?

ETA: As far as I know, it's not a question of willingness ...It's a question of church law and I can't image that a priest would break church law.

From what I know, you need to get a 'dispensation' from the church and have to have a very very good reason why you want to get married at a place other than a church. Have you spoken to your parish priest to get more info?

Tom Mccormick is listed on the vendors page, and he was a catholic priest for a while before leaving the church.

We found a Catholic priest through the White Robed Monks. You fill out their form and they try to match you up. He is Catholic, but not part of the Roman Catholic Church. So, he believes in all the spiritual aspects of Catholicism but doesn't necessary believe the edicts of the Pope and the Church. He told us that if it's important for us for the marriage to be recognized by the RC Church, that he could help us with that.
