In so much pain

In so much pain

Since last night my lower back has been absolutely killing me. I had a spinal fusion 6 1/2 years ago so pain is something that comes and goes, but something is very different this time. It took me 10 minutes to get out of the bed last night and when I did, it took another 5 before I could move my legs and 'walk'. I can't even move from side to side in the bed. FH wants me to go to the hospital, but the docs out here know nothing about my kind of surgery (it was done in the city) and they won't touch me because they have no idea what they're looking at on the x-rays. So they just give me painkillers and send me home. I'm praying this goes away soon so I can move. I actually yelp out with every step I take or to reach for a glass, anything.

I think you should head to your regular Dr. It sounds awful and you shouldn't suffer thru it. I hope you get well soon

Oh Jenn!! Please, please, please try to see a doctor asap! I'm not sure what a spinal fusion is, but I do have 3 herniated discs in my back from moving furniture and I know how bad the pain can get. The sooner you get to a doctor the better!! I hope the pain eases up and you feel better soon!!

Re: In so much pain

Oh, Jenn. We are sorry to hear this. You should go to the doctor who perform your surgery. That
doctor will mostly likely know and or find out what is going on. Please keep us posted and get well soon.

Re: In so much pain

Have you called the dr in the city and asked if they can rec someone on the island? I hope you feel better soon. My dad has had back problems for YEARS! The first thing that has given him relief is Acupuncture. He is in Bohemia and works in a reputable office, if you want any info FM me.

I really hope you feel better soon

Re: In so much pain

I had spine surgery about 3 years ago so i understand the kind of pain you are going through!!!

It started with lower back pain and progressively go worse to the point where i hardly felt my legs. Turned out i had tumors growing on my spine.

You should get an MRI at LEAST..

I could be just something you pulled, but I also thought that at first.

DEFINITELY see a doctor

You need to see your dr. Don't suffer any longer and be demanding to get test done. I have lower back pain too, herniated & bulging discs. I wanted to be sure that's what I had and now my MRI tells me exactly where they are.

It's better to know the truth. Pain killers are only temporary see if you can go to physical therapy. It find for me it really works. Massages have helped me, but get a checkup just to be safe.

Feel better.

Re: In so much pain

I so feel your pain!!! I had surgery myself 3 years ago. I dont think you would be able to go into the city (because of the pain and sitting might not be too comfy...as well as going over bumps etc) BUT I think you should call you dr right way and see if he has anyone to recommend out here. My Dr was AMAZING and he is in Babylon right by Good Samaritan Hospital.

Good Luck!
