Including Children from previous relationships

I have a child from a previous relationship (never married that one, thankfully!) I have finally found the most amazing man that treats my son the way a true father would.

My question...what ways can I incorporate him into the ceremony without over-doing it? (he's already going to be in the bridal party)

What have you seen at other weddings, or if you have kids from previous relationships, what are you doing to include them?

Any and all ideas would be great! Thanks ladies

***Edited to add that he will be 16 at the time of our wedding

Including Children from previous relationships

My FH has 2 children from a previous marriage...

They're both his 'best men' and we'll be doing some kind of sand pouring unity type thing at our ceremony.

Maybe that could be an idea? All of you use a different color sand or even the SAME color sand...

Just an idea. :)

Re: Including Children from previous relationships

At other weddings i've seen couples do the unity sand ceremony with their child/children. That's where each person has different color sand and they each take turns pouring it into the same vase to symbolize unity. I posted a pic below

**Sorry didn't realize somebody just told you about this lol

Not sure how old your son is but I saw the cutest sign on pinterest that said '(FH name) here comes my mommy' but that would only work if he is young, just thought I would share since I thought it was so cute :)

Including Children from previous relationships

I have a soon to be 16 year old daughter who will be my maid of honor (she will walk down right before me)and my son who is 10 will walk me down the aisle. I was thinking about the sand ceremony and decided not to. Also my mom and my daughter will be doing a speech, and they will enter how the bridal party usually does(we don't have a bridal party)
Best man would be a great thing for him, even if he has one, he can always have 2 :)

When friend's mother married her boyfriend, he gave my friend a rose during the ceremony. It was a sweet way to include her in the ceremony... and not a dry eye in the house!
