My FH and I want to include our little miracle in our wedding ceremony. Our son was born last August...he was 15 wks early. Our little guy had so much to fight through. We are trying to come up with something to include him in the ceremony....I've been looking for ideas on the internet...but eveything I seem to find is more related to children from previous relationships. I would appreciate any ideas that anyone has...so far I feel like everything I've come up with is just not good enough.
Thanks in advance.

Re: including our little Miracle in our ceremony
I read about a bride and groom that had a child prior to marriage and after the groom gave his new wife her wedding band they both presented the child with a pendant that signified the three were a family together. I always thought that was really nice. The child was about 6 though.

Awww thats a cute idea. I started a similar thread the other day. We didn't get many responses. A special song is always nice.
My mom is most likely going to walk down with our 16 month old daughter (she will be 16 months by our wedding). I am trying to think of special ways to include her too.

Re: including our little Miracle in our ceremony
I am going to be dancing with James at the reception to 'Your Song' by Elton John...and I will ask my sister and her son and my BIL and his daughter to join us...and then anyone else who's son/daughter...mother/father is also at the wedding...for a special parent/child dance.
but I really want to have something said in the actual ceremony...I was thinking about how Mine and FH's love shines through James. Just not sure how to word it.

I honestly think this should be said from the heart. You and or your fh should write something and then maybe add a little poem at the end. Maybe after you are announced husband and wife, they can add a little something in there for your son like 'I now pronounce the three of you officially as one family?'
I don't know if that sounds bad..but you get the idea!!!

I do plan on writing something personal...Im just really bad at putting emotion like that into words. Im also afraid that when It comes time to say it out loud Ill start crying hysterical...because Ill be thinking of all that we had to go through...and how difficult everything was for James...and how grateful I am that James is a fighter and that God kept him here with us....Im crying already.

After you say your vows to each other, you both can recite a special vow to your little one. You can have someone bring him up to you at the altar this way you're holding him while reciting the vows. As for getting emotional - you just go ahead and get emotional! I know I would!!

I like the idea of bringing him up to the Alter...and since the BM will be holding him...it will be just like passing the rings to us...lol.

My friends had the baby brought up to them during vows, and theyhad a few special vows for their son also. It was VERY special!

His first birthday will be around your wedding? Why not sing happy birthday to him. I know that doesnt have much to do with the actual wedding but he will love it at the reception. Thats what Im doing.
