Inconsiderate?

Inconsiderate?

So, my Bachelorette Party is tomorrow night. My MOH and Future Sister in Law planned everything out and got the limo for the night based on how many girls are coming out and everyone was ok with how much the limo was going to be. Yesterday my sister contacted my MOH and told her that the limo was too expensive and she was backing out and was going to take the train instead. This morning my other sister contacts my MOH and tells her the same thing.
IMO, if they knew they wouldn't have been able to afford it they should have been straight foward from the get go. Now my MOH and Sister in Law have to try and get a smaller limo. And I'm pi$$ed off because this is so typical of my one sister. Do I say something to her, or do I just let it go?

This is kind of difficult to approach, it was so sweet of your MOH and FSIL to do that for you and to have your own sisters back out is definitely inconsiderate and also a little embarrassing IMO....I wouldn't get into a heated thing over it because you still want to enjoy your night but I would say something about the fact that they have to go through the trouble of changing plans for them and if they ddidn't want to be a part of the limo thing they should have said something long before they actually did. Good luck, HTH and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

I agree, you have to say something to them because what they did is rude, but don't let it ruin your great day!

I agree...being that they are family you can def say something. i have heard these stories from friends about people backing out at the last minute and I just cant imagine it! How rude! Either you can or you cant...not yes then no! Now the other girls will get stuck paying more right?

Honestly, I think this is pretty typical. I planned a friend's bachelorette party last month and had it way worse than you. We all live in the city so we didn't have to worry about paying to get a limo or anything. We had girls who said they couldn't afford the $70 for dinner, 2-hours unlimited drinking...and this included paying for the bride, tax and tip! One girl came and just watched us eat. Another girl came, drank our margaritas, and then gave us $5. I wanted to slap her silly.

So I think you're having an easy time - at least they will pay for the actual bachelorette party, even if they won't pay for the limo. Just remember that economic times are hard right now so try to be considerate of that.

I agree that you have to say something to them...If its really bugging you just say call them up and say something, dont make a big deal out of it and make the situation worse though. If you dont say something beforehand and thinking about this during your party is going to ruin it for you say something to them today...

My fiancee is paying the difference because he doesn't want everyone else paying more. Still, he shouldn't have to do that because of them.

ITA!!!! That's just not right, definitely say something to both of them but do it after tomorrow night, don't let them spoil your bachelorette party, but I would definitely let them know how rude and inconsiderate they were, not only to you but to your MOH and FSIL who took the time out to plan it all.

I totally get that. I'm not unsympathetic to that fact. I just feel that if they knew that they wouldn't be able to afford the limo from the beginning, then they shouldn't have said that they would contribute to it. KWIM?

That is why I told my girls to forget about a bachleorette party and just go out to the club cause times are hard ...but as for them they should have told you they couldnt afford it from the beginning or maybe they could at first but things happen

They just booked the limo 3 weeks ago. This wasn't something that was planned months ago. Like I said earlier, I'm not unsympathetic to people having money issues. I'm not rich by any means, but, they shouldn't have said that they were going to chip in for the limo if they knew they could not afford it. I mean, I wouldn't do it. Most sensible people would be upfront.
