incorporating hobbies/personality into

Original post by Espo22

Ok i wrote about this part in my Marina del rey review but ill write it out for whoever didnt see it. The groom plays the drums and at the wedding they had the whole percussion set up the one with the cymbals and all that...The groom played the drums to the song 'shook me all night long' by AC/DC...everyone at the wedding got out of their seats and crowded around him on the middle of the dance floor. His friends were going crazy jumping up and down singing and everyone was cheering. He did a great job too, and i thought it was such a nice personal touch.

Is anyone doing anything like that? I dont know what to do lol, bring in a pitcher to throw the ball at FH so he can hit it but seriously would like to hear if anyone is doing anything similar

I have the best idea for you, if you are into it, that my best friend used a few weeks ago at her Marina Del Ray wedding!

The band leader announced that our bride and groom have been working very hard on a piece that they wanted to share.......they sat the groom down and had her sing to him, 'I'm your laddyyyy and you are my mannnnn, whenever you reach for meeeeeee, I'll do all that I can' (whatever that song is)......she got all into it and everyone ATE IT UP!

Then, they had her husband 'play' the band leader's guitar and rock out ot a song with heavy guitar. Everyone was up front, as if they were the concert performers. All I know is between them up there, the lights and smoke and the reaction of the crowd, their video and pics are going to be priceless! I want to look into something like this....

Did they have good singing voices??? Because if I were to try this, the only standing ovation I'd get is when the guests leave their seats to exit the hall...lol

FH's entire family are drummers or guitarist and I have to say the majority of people at our wedding who are our friends are in bands. Problem though is we can't set anything up since we would need 'insurance' to do something unless we had a band play the wedding which we didn't want to do.

BUT the after party is a diff. story - we may even do a mini show across the street from the hotel. Hardcore, death metal show which would be so sick. I would be pittin with my dress on!

i think if you talk to the DJ you can do like one little number...You always see at weddings the couple use the percussions and play it for fun ya know, definitely look into it, not putting on like a full show but a little something...I think that would be a great idea

I think were going. I have to work but not very late. I might show up around 1 or so. Hopefully my job doesnt ask me to stay late. It would be so nice to see you!

actually.. FH is thinking of doing something similar to the story you shared in the OP denise.

He plays the drums also, and since the band we are using is friends with FH's uncle.. they agreed to let FH pick a few songs that he can play with them.

I know how much he loves playing.. and this will be a big crowd. so he is really looking forward to it.

He is still trying to decide which songs he wants to play.
