Increased Sales Tax

Just saw this on another board.

The NYC sales tax has increased to 8.875%.

Not sure what this affects as far as RHs and vendors that you have already booked. I would call and find out.

When I went to book my RH, my BM told me of the increase. I met with her b4 the sales tax became effective but she calculated my contract with the new tax. I didn't question... but in the end it worked our because FH and I ended up officially signing the contract after the effective date.

I think the new tax affects anything like RH, florist, etc. where you will eventually receive a bill after the effective date i.e. not fully paid off. I'm not 100% sure but that's my understanding

I just booked on Tuesday and my BM said that you're locked into the rate written on the contract. So if the tax goes up or down, it doesn't matter - we will have to pay what is written on our contract. But this might depend on the RH - I think I remember this question coming up at one hall that we visited and they said that if the tax goes up, you have to pay the new tax rate so I'm not sure if its the same everywhere....also - is the rate for LI or just NYC?
