Info for those who are planning

It's been a long time since I've posted/visited this site! That's what happens when your teaching and in grad school

I've been married for almost a year (8-02-02) and I wanted to post about one of my vendor experiences.

JoVon photography- we used Telmo and Beth who did a great job. They really caught some great moments. However, we had to due a majority of the post-wedding pics inside the Carlyle due to the weather. We just had our album session last weekend and I can't wait to see how it comes out. Hint: When we signed our contract they included 50 pics in the album. This is really NOT enough! Try to get as many as possible, if I knew this I would've tried to get more included. We went over our 50 pics and had to pay a lot more than expected! Also,
ask about the tax- when do you pay for it? At Jovon, it is included at the end...which meant we had to pay over $800 in TAX!!! This is something we had printed at the bottom of our contract, but was never brought directly to our attention. We also used them for our video too. This was NOT a smart move. They are wonderful for pictures, but video is not their thing. We thought by using the same company for both it would be easier. This was true, yet it was not better. First off, they spelled my name wrong on the tape! They left out SO many important parts in the edited video.
Such as:
cake cutting, father-daughter dance, mother-son dance, an uncle singing, etc. I had to request the unedited tapes, and I went through them to find those moments. When I asked them to fix the mistakes, they were not very cooperative. They told me that I was asking for custom editing, and it will cost MORE!! Well, it was not cheap to begin with, and it should've been done right the first time. Anyway, they are going to get back to me this week. I'll let you know how it goes
I just thought that if you are thinking about using this particular vendor you would like to have this info prior to signing the contract. Let me know if you have any questions.
